Slip Inn Cafe is the only waterfront cafe in Marlborough. We are renowned for our relaxing cafe atmosphere, stunning views, friendly crew and for our extensive offering of tasty house-made fare, served all day, breakfast, lunch, dinner, pizza, platters and nibbles, many mussel dishes to choose from, gluten and dairy free and vegetarian options and a huge selection of drinks to enjoy featuring many local wines.
A large group of us had lunch here, it was mid week. Whilst not outstanding the food was good and met everybodies requirements, we had GF, Vegetarian and no seafood people amongst us and they all left happy. The restaurant is on the edge of a slipway so there is plenty happening around you and on our visit there was a little blue penguin bobbing around. Despite there being 10 of us all of the meals arrived at the sametime so the staff were well organised

Havelock's iconic green lip (green shell) mussel restaurant.Casual and informal. The restaurant specialises in green lip mussels but also has a variety of New Zealand seafood, burgers, pastas, gluten free and vegetarian options all perfectly matched with famous Marlborough wines and New Zealand beer.Great outdoor Seating through summer. Closed for winter June to end of August.
Unfortunately we are not able to visit often enough ! Everything here is great. The mussels are so delicious we have not tried anything else on the menu yet. Lovely Seating outside in the courtyard. Highly recommended.

Pelorus bridge is a great little haven to explore for its beautiful bush walks, famous river for swimming and the lovely little cafe nestled in amongst the towering trees and abundent bird life. Come check us out for a coffee, cake or have one of our famous Venison pies we have plenty of choices. Every day the staff are creating something wonderful in the kitchen the smells are to die for, all our food is homemade on the premises, we even have Gluten free.
We call in here quite regularly between Blenheim and Nelson, these owners have continuously improved the food, service and decor. Each time we go in there is more variety whilst holding onto the favourites. Chicken pies are amazing, this time I tried a vegetarian pizza - it was amazing, snickers caramel slice, the fries are delicious and everything homemade. Well done team.

On our way to Nelson we stopped to stretch our legs and look at Havelock. We called in here for coffee before setting off again. It was ok

Apples for Charlotte Eatery is a vintage style cafe and tea rooms with a fresh, homely feel. We bake all our sweet and savoury treats from Bagels and croissants to scones and slices. Everything is made with love and attention to detail as we want everyone to enjoy our little cafe as much as we do. We are passionate about providing great coffee and serving loose leaf tea in vintage China. High tea is another passion of ours and we have a high tea menu filled with bite sized traditional treats to enjoy. From the decor to the music, Apples for Charlotte is a beautiful place to just relax with some coffee and cake.
As NZ tea rooms go this is pretty hard to beat. My only criticism is a very British once and applies to everywhere I've been in NZ; Devonshire / cream tea should be served with clotted cream NOT whipped. I still live in hope of finding somewhere this side of the planet that's got this right.

We passed through Havelock on our way to Abel Tasman National Park and kind of ended up here, because the other options did not offer vegetarian alternatives. We had some burgers and fries. The food was very good. Especially the vegetarian burger was very delicious. Furthermore the portions are very large so you should definitely share the fries and just the fries are enough as lunch. The guy taking the orders was very friendly, however for a fast food takeaway the food took quite a long time.
If you are driving through Havelock it is definitely worth it stopping by for lunch, but be prepared to wait for it.

We had egg sandwiches which had been made fresh daily and a coffee each while we watched the world go by. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. There was a lot to chose from pies, sausage rolls, sandwiches (lots of variety) and cakes galore. Value for money.
