The newest venue in the Regional Facilities Auckland (RFA) family, North Harbour stadium is located in the centre of the North Shore Domain in Albany.
Went to the FIFA 2018 World Cup Qualifier yesterday v New Caledonia at North Harbour - pathetic organisation from the start. An international match should attract at least 20 000 people so the QBE stadium holding 25 000 should have been perfect but the total lack of advertising and perhaps the ticket price ($30) coupled with the lack of liaising with local schools to get schoolboy footballers there at a cheap rate meant that the 'crowd' was a paltry 8100. Only one stand was used and the two areas behind the goal and the stand opposite the main stand were all empty - absolutely no atmosphere whatsoever.
And with a stadium less than a third full you expect there'd be no need to queue - but nothing worked efficiently. Gate H into the west side of the main stand had a ten minute queue 45 minutes before kick-off because of checking bags and having just two scanners working. The queue for food seemed to be a good twenty minutes. How can everything work so well at Eden Park for a maximum 48 000 crowd but not here for just 8100?

I first played this course 25 years ago. I am still a member and take great pleasure introducing visitors to the 27 holes of this beautifully maintained course. This is not a flat course but has interesting fairways, some tricky greens plus a few lakes. I often compare this course to those I watch the pros play and wish they could see our great course. Look forward to sing some of you here one day

Swimming pool complex but we just used for our granddaughter to enjoy being in water. There's a good area with water dropping from height, spraying water, as well as shallow pools for the little kids. She loved it - nice and warm - definitely must accompany little ones but there's plenty of leeway for them to be a bit adventurous. Definitely worth a visit for small kids. The rest of the complex looks to be well used by older children and adults. Parking can be a problem if there's something on in the neighbouring stadium but a brisk walk never hurt anyone. Friendly staff and plenty of lifeguards.

Guided sea-kayak, mountain bike and bush walking journeys around Auckland and New Zealand. Helping people discover self, place and people.
We bought vouchers from 'groupy' for a kayak trip to Rangitoto Island. Our first session of trying to book them in advance for our guest from UK resulted in none returned emails and telephone calls. When they did eventually return our many attempts to contact, our guest was already back at work in the UK. We did the same again with another couple of guests a few weeks later, but this time they just didnt return our emails or phone messages.
****This vote is not based on the actual trip, as we didn't get to use our vouchers****

Gills Scenic Reserve is situated on an undulating forested slope with great views over Albany from the elevated ridges in the upper reaches of the Lucas Creek catchment. However, the tracks are not signposted and appear to be maintained only in the low-lying areas near and around the waterfall, where there is a park bench (not ideal for a picnic). There is good access from the bus stop on Dairy Flat Hwy (close to the pub) with a sturdy, newly built boardwalk that provides an initial connection to the Nikau Grove (native palms). Easy walks all round; deserving three stars or more when fully upgraded.
