Myself and my partner decided to put our skills to the test in this somewhat testing course! Great fun on a well designed and interesting course, eventually the true champion (me!) came out on top! For the sake of my relationship, I won by 3 shots...in reality it was more like 20!
I've played better and harder courses before but for £4, you cannot fault it what so ever. A great way to spend half an hour!

At £5.95 each just for the Jacobs ladder and gorge walk or £19.95 each for the whole package which includes the two cave experiences and entrance to the museum it is a little on the expensive side.
These experiences cannot be done individually but you do have a year to tick them off, but only once each.
The walk around the top of the gorge is nice, slightly tougher going after the hike up the stairs, the path just keeps going up, you think you’re at the top but it keeps going. The path is fairly easy but it is steeped in parts and has lots of rocks. There are plenty of places to stop for a rest and clearing where you can get some amazing views, it is quite long and we did not get as far as we thought we would in the time we spent, we didn’t want to spend the whole day doing just that so went back down to do the caves.
The caves were interesting enough but are quite small, wooky hole caves are much bigger.

What a lovely campsite with amazing views! Shower, toilets and washing up room all kept clean. Well kept area for camping. We stayed near the end of Oct for 4nights so it was very quiet of other campers/caravaners. Owners were really friendly and helpful, lending us a foot pump and telling us about places to visit and walks in the area. Would definitely visit again

During the recent hot spell over the August bank holiday weekend, we visited Somerset, and tried to fit in as much as we could. We drove to Cheddar, and although we didn't have time to check out the actual Gorge and Caves, as it was our last day, we spent some time in the village, which was brilliant. Cheddar village is very pretty and picturesque, and very quaint. The shops were really interesting and actually selling decent stuff, and not all tat, trinkets and rubbish. There were really good cider shops, and lovely selections of cheese and chutney which you could, of course, taste. The toiletries and crafts were also interesting. I would like to go there again and do the whole hog. Check out also the City of Wells. A lovely place with a Cathedral, castle, a moat and market stalls. Well worth a visit to this area of the South West.

Burrington Combe is a Carboniferous Limestone gorge near the village of Burrington, on the north side of the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Augustus Toplady rested here beneath the rock and was inspired to compose the hymn Rock of Ages! A wonderful rock, pretty village, and a must-see!

This village church is close to the football ground and village centre and is worth a visit. It is a airy, light and crammed with history, plaques and a lovely war memorial to those killed in the Great War. It has always been open when I have called in, unlike so many of our churches today.
