We are a fine dining restaurant serving British and Mediterranean cuisine. Under new management from January therefore no longer a French restaurant as stated previously. It is a small restaurant so feels very homely and welcoming. Open from Tuesday to Saturday evenings and offering a Sunday lunch menu.
We were looking for somewhere different to eat in Burnham and noticed some good reviews for this place. I remember a time when you had to book up a month in advance to get a table here but today we just walked in and there were plenty of spare seats available which was rather worrying! I had looked at the food photos on this site and they looked very appetising but I didn't realise the place had changed hands recently. It's not a French restaurant any more and they don't now have the same selection of food on the menu which I was expecting. If there had been an on-line menu, I would have realised, but I was unable to find one.
First impressions was how bland the decor was. Very dull and outdated. Also, the music was too loud, unnecessary and very irritating.
For drinks, we ordered Orange and Passion-fruit J2O's but we where told that they only did Orange. Strange! When it came, it just tasted like orange cordial with water added. I checked on line when I got home and found that J2O don't do 'just orange', all their products are blended, so something fishy is going on there...
The food, oh God, the food! - truly dreadful, so much so that it's difficult to convey the sheer awfulness of it. On the plus side, it was just about edible. I ordered a prawn dish with an exotic name for a starter but quite honestly it was just a few tough previously frozen and overcooked prawns in a small pot with what seemed to be some tinned chopped tomatoes thrown over them accompanied by some dry bread. My wife's pate starter was exactly like the type you get from Tesco's along with dry oatcakes and a lettuce leaf. We would have expected home-made pate for the £6.50 they charged. My main course of Beef Stifado was very disappointing. No vegetables, just some brown slop on the plate accompanied by a small basket of chips which were very salty. No attempt at a nice presentation whatsoever. I have cooked a better version at home myself. I checked some of the food on other glum-faced diners plates and they all looked equally uninspiring. The lone waitress was pleasant enough and did her best but overall this restaurant was not anywhere near the standard we expected considering the high prices charged for what you get. Much better value at Hungry Horse down the road, that's a gourmet experience compared to The Mitre!
This restaurant seems to have gone downhill since the new owners took over, so sorry guys, you will have to make some vast improvements or you are going to lose customers big-time. No surprise but we won't be returning, nor our friends.

The Seagull is one of the southwest largest free entertainment venues in the south west.
Terrible customer service.. the female manager needs to learn some customer service skills on how to treat and talk to paying customers when they are are making a small complaint not shout and answer them back while accusing them of lying ... WILL.NEVER RETURN

Cycling round the coast of Britain in stages...Sept 2017 leg...after finding a marvellous B & B our next thought was food. Having read various reviews of various restaurants we chose Taste of the Orient. We couldn't have made a better choice. Excellent service and excellent food.
Thank you very much.

This place is absolutely beautiful! Small, cosy, dim lit with candles & a rose on each table. It's the most beautiful Italian restaurant I've ever been to, and for the food and service we received I would have expected to pay alot more than we Did! 2 glasses of wine, a beer, a dissarano, 2 starters & 2 mains for £45.. with table side service & they couldn't do enough for us they were amazing. Our only saddest regret was that we paid on card & didn't have money on us to tip.. but next time we go in we will be tipping double ❤ most beautiful food I've eaten in a long time.. amazing place, thankyou so much to all of you that work here, you made mine & my boyfriend's first Valentine's absolutely amazing

A nice looking chippie right on Burnham's sea front, not the cheapest price (Haven's chippy has similarly priced produce, and parks are renowned for high prices), and service was slow; the 2 young female servers were waiting for chips, chips that I saw go in but they didn't, lots of staff and they deliver, the fish and chips and curry sauce were very nice, but not exactly fast food at an attractive price. More spit, less polish needed.

The Beachcomber is Warren Farm's on-site clubhouse and is open to the public. Open all day, every day from 12 noon through the holiday season (April - October), with delicious food and fantastic live entertainment. There is a large beer garden, children's room, family restaurant and modern Cabaret Bar. There is free wifi available within the clubhouse. The Beachcomber menu ranges from light snacks to hearty home-cooked meals. Our legendary Sunday carvery is served all day 12 - 8pm during the main season (April - October). The Beachcomber regularly hosts top class entertainment including cabaret, comedy, tribute acts and great bands, with no admission cost. Cabaret is followed by a lively late night disco with our resident DJ. Our in-house children's entertainers host games and party dances in the Pirates Cove.
Really not my scene - a bit dinning hall though food was ok apart from the most foul tasting mac n cheese, don’t know how anyone could ruin mac n cheese but it was horrid - all the family tasted it and so not good. Warm but dimly lit so felt rather dated. Food inexpensive no real ale but we thought the children’s entertainment might have been good but started too late for our little one. Probably would not return

We all came here off the back off TA reviews whilst on hols... writing this in the garden whilst finishing my beer.
Service: excellent. With a smile. Nothing too much hassle... Helped us move indoors to eat whilst food was being served as it got a bit windy and cold. Also served me an empty plate of "invisible bananas" to entertain my 5yr old whose been obsessed about it for the past couple of hours. Thank you if your Reading this!
Food: really good. We had 2x ribeye steaks, both perfectly cooked, tender and as good as any I've had. Kids had burger and nuggets kids meals. Again excellent. Can't fault any of the food.
Excellent food, served with a smile, and reasonably priced, including the drinks. Can't fault it at all.
Definitely worth a visit if your close.

There a small Seating area where you can sit in the Sunshine.
No parking on side but lots of places around where you can leave the car
I did like it that a staff member recommended the best flavours
Overall great place and we will visit again next time we're in Brean
