A modern building houses the Benedictine monks at a very pleasant location. Situated at the Rua do Observatório, a winding road at the highest point (so it seems) in Vinhedo, this is an isolated place that provides a welcome pause from the noise in the highways around the area. There is plenty of parking space in the front amid the Gardens. The interior of the monastery, with its concrete walls and ceiling, is quite austere. There is a shop where you can find a wide choice of religious items together with specialties such as bread, honey and marmelades.

É uma bela igreja católica, mais moderna, com belos vitrais. Especula-se que, exceto a figura central do vitral - Nossa Senhora, todas as outras estariam retratadas mulheres da sociedade campineira, que doaram dinheiro para a construção.

A privileged place that provides a view of the surrounding valley, including most of Vinhedo. Following the tradition, there is a statue of the Christ.
The problem here is that a horrible, kitsch, green building spreads from the monument and crosses over the road. Such bad taste has a positive side: it is impossible to miss the site from the road. On the other hand, any beauty you expect to see from the view is destroyed when you have to look at the green thing.

One of the greatest challenge for me is leaving the city of São Paulo and find good service (which is very difficult even here).
I visited Laroc Club yesterday with few friends and the sample was nice, enjoyable at the beginning. But as I were using the services such bar I noticed how little committed were few employees. The bar close the food truck for example had a guy with very bad education. The firefighters ignored many many smokers inside the closed environment.
The price of beverages were very expensive.
And it is far very far. So consider to hire a shuttle or rent a car.
Although the music was good, security was good, toilets good and clean. They have emergency rooms.
You can have fun there. But few improvements must be done.

This Cathedral is a thing of beauty inside. You find the most wonderful wood carvings and sculptures made of "Jacaranda Wood". This is the tree or bush that you see with those beautiful blue (purple) flowers everywhere in South America. We were unlucky there was a mass in progress so we could not admire as we would have liked to. They say it was built in the 19th century in a technique called "taipa de pilas" meaning using clay and rocks. The outside was in restoration therefore covered up so we could not admire it. Go visit when in Campinas it is definitely worth it!

There is not too many options in Vinhedo, but walk or use your bicycle are nice outside activities in the city. There are two main dans but in one of them, you can make a entire contour (around 1.5 Km, I guess). Crowed on weekends and holidays, but always there is space for one more. There is not bicycles to be rent.

O CLT é uma boa opção de lazer em Valinhos, o parque é bonito, como a maioria dos parques municipais precisa de alguns cuidados mas é uma boa opção para prática esportiva.

This church is in the center of the city. Inside the church is very nice. But outside there are a lots of homeless. I recomend to visit it in the day or evening but not in the late night
