Last week I have hiked from Rifugio Gardeccia over Rifugio Vajolet further steep up to Rifugio Passo Santner and back= cca 13 kms. Harder part is from Rifugio Vajolet up to Rifugio Alberto.
Excellent views and experience.
Rifugio Gardeccia : accesible either by foot, bike or minibus (recommended).
Refreshment : in all mentioned huts, except the most distant one ( Rif. Passo Santner).
Take enough water to drink. Poles not necessary (at least for me).

The Nature Park is Puez-Geisler is of the most beautiful sites in the Dolomites. There are lots of trekking paths for every kind of physical condition and you can really get close to the amazing Mountains without long walks. Animals, rare flowers and plants make the park not just attractive for geologists but for everyone loving the nature.

Uncomparable with many places a lot more famous in Europe, it has absolutely nothing to envy. Hundreds of km of slopes, well maintained with good and well maintained lifts, chalets and restaurants serve excellent food and the scenery of the dolomites is just breathtaking

Insights into exotic Mediterranean landscapes and views of the surrounding mountain chains and sun-kissed Merano: The Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle comprises eighty natural and cultivated landscapes nestled into a natural Amphitheatre, a wide array of themed Gardens, and numerous Artist Pavilions and Experience Stations. Visitors find the extraordinary combination of nature, culture and art at South Tyrol's most popular attraction absolutely enchanting. The interplay of historical and contemporary architecture, a rich variety of events, and seasonal blooming throughout the course of the year all make Trauttmansdorff an experience for all five senses and for visitors of all ages. After being named Italy's Most Beautiful Garden in 2005 and Europe's No. 6 Garden in 2006, Trauttmansdorff was honored with the International Garden of the Year award in 2013, thus joining the ranks of the world's most important and beautiful Gardens and parks. The Touriseum, the spirited museum housed inside Trauttmansdorff Castle, now spotlights recent tourism history and features new exhibits about the castle's VIP guests.
These Gardens have a perfect layout to entice you to spend a day strolling the paths and inspecting all the different varieties of plants there. Highlights for us were the range of dahlias and the tropical greenhouse. It would have been nice to do the Botanical underworld in English (at the time we went the languages were alternating between Italian and German), and it's just bad luck for us that the aviary was filled with birds that we find in our back yard at home but it didn't take away from the overall experience. We were here for about 3 hours but could easily have stayed longer.

A must visit when in the Val di Non. Beautiful alpine lake with Cristal clear water - and even some white sand Beaches!!!! It will take just over one hour to walk around it. Many longer walks and hikes can be started from the lake.

Second time in 4 years we've been here and we were quite shocked by the lack of water in the lake.
Last time we came in 2013 ( also in February), the lake looked very full and very beautiful to the eye with its unusual colour.
This time however, we walked from the car park, over the bridge and could not see any water, in fact I'd say the first bit of water was a good quarter of a mile from this point and the dry lake bed resembled the surface of the moon.
It has been like this for a while as there were small tents playing music all around the shoreline.
Saying that, the lake is still very impressive and covers a huge distance and it is a lovely place to sit and chill a while.
There is of course the obligatory gift shop and cafe if you wish to indulge, but you should really just walk past them both and wander down to near the lake and just sit.
The scenery around is spectacular with high Mountains in all directions, but it is the lake people come to see.
Please leave and drive along the shore road to see this wander of nature in its entirety.

Perhaps the most exciting alpine road we've ever been on and we're from Colorado! Motorcyclists, bicyclists and rally drivers know and revere this route well. We found it only by chance. No, our BMW was at home, but Karl drove our rent car and I read the Garmin like a rally navigator. Exhilarating! We loved it; the route is the thing. Don't miss this experience with the elevations, switchbacks and speed. And be sure to have a celebratory snack, beverage and souvenir shopping at the top. Watching the other cycling sportsmen hit the top could occupy most of the day. Wowser!

This is a very heavily traveled auto pass, and places to park in order to stop for picture taking are scarce. That said, this is a spectacular location--not to be missed on any Dolomite vacation trip. I visited Sella Pass on an almost daily basis as I stayed in Wolkenstein/Selva for 10 days.

After lunch at Osteria La Miniera dei Sapori Mocheni (unique experience worth trying), we were intrigued by the Museo Pietra Viva. That really made our day! Amazing Mario Pallaoro took us through his museum. Fascinating, but the real experience is him! Never met with such a heartfelt guy! He will take you through what he has built, together with his twin brother, with their passion. You will see something that takes you to another dimension, difficult to explain if you don’t try! What will leave you with is a feeling of warmth, timeless and love, pure and candid....we missed Mario soon after leaving...
Grazie Mario, sei un grande!!
