Step back in time for this genuine NZ movie theatre, active since 1932. Movie memorabilia and many old fashioned rules plastered to the walls! Loved it. Can't believe I've lived in driving distance and never been here before... Wet day in T.A., or if you love movies and/or history, you'll love it!

I could also watch them harvest the lavender-had no idea how it waqs done,is very labour intensive.
I bought some lavender soap for $5,but theres a lot more other lavender products for sale.
The area is a lot smaller than I was expecting and there is no road sign to direct you.
I could only find it by approaching from the other direction(no gps)

I went on an evening walk with friends into this little forest of protected Karikatea trees. These ones here have incredible large roots. The whole forest seems like a little fantasy world. You find a short guided boardwalk and a look-out tower.
amazing in the evening when the golden light shines into the forest!

Great parking, a steady climb to the top with an easy to follow track to the trig station. Excellent signage and really good descriptions of the surrounding areas once you make it to the top. Excellent references to Maori. A very pretty walk, the trust has been really fantastic in getting the track sorted. All credit to them.

Te Awamutu considers itself the rose capital of New Zealand, and this is why. There are probably 50 different types of roses, but 2500 in total. The plants are well cared for and healthy. The Fountain in the center of the park adds to the attraction. As a rose lover (and grower), I would not have missed it!!

A central gathering place where local residents and visitors come to experience Waipa's history, art, ideas and culture.
I also came here to do research for my book Anzac War Story and Poetry and spent hours here Reading all the information on the war soldiers especially the Maori Battalion and their families. I watched the film over and over. The different areas are well laid out and very informative. A childrens area also. When you come in on your right hand side is a lot of books for sale and display. staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. History of the Finn brothers in the music industry and their background coming from Te Awamutu.
I loved this museum and it is right next to the library also great.

Floating involves lying in a shallow super-saturated Epsom-salt solution, which lets you float effortlessly on the surface of the water and enjoy a feeling of weightlessness. The modern design of the Float Pod is crafted to shelter you from external stimuli such as sights, sounds, tactile sensations and gravity. Removing the effects of gravity on the body creates weightless, and total relaxation.
