Great attraction, the cave is huge and impressive. The blue lagoon only gets blue in the afternoon, so if you start your tour later , it will be blue at the time you reach it. We started at 9h00 and it was 13h00 at the time we reach the blue lagoon. At that time, the sun wasn't reaching the lagoon, so it was not blue and we had to wait to see it turn blue.

The Pantanal is one of the largest continuous wetland expanses of the planet and is located in the center of South America, in the basin of the Upper Paraguay. Its area is 150,000 square kilometers, with 65% of its territory in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul and 35% in Mato Grosso. The Pantanal is formed by extensive wetlands that serve as shelter for many fish, such as painted, gold, pacu, and also for other animals, such as alligators, capybaras and otters, among other species. Many endangered animals in other parts of Brazil still have vigorous populations in the Pantanal region, such as the marsh deer, the capybara, the Jabiru and the alligator. The Pantanal fauna is very rich. There are 650 species of birds (over Brazil are cataloged about 1800). The most spectacular is the hyacinth macaw, an endangered species. There is still storks (the bird symbol of Pantanal), toucans, parakeets, egrets, hummingbirds (minors may weigh two grams), herons (species of heron brown color), jacanas, emus, seriemas, parrots, spoonbills, hawks, caracara and ibises. In the Pantanal have been cataloged more than 1,100 species of butterflies. They are more than 124 species of mammals, the main ones being the jaguar (reaching 1.2 m in length, 0.85 cm tall and weighs up to 150 kg), capybara, cub, pampas deer, veado- brocket, maned wolf, monkey, marsh deer, howler the marsh (monkey that makes a scary noise in the morning), tapir, peccary, giant anteater, dog-eating fox, tapir, silkworm sloth, otter, puma, coati, armadillo etc. The region is also extremely fishy, having already been cataloged 263 species of fish: piranhas (carnivorous and extremely voracious fish), pacu, painted, gilded, cachara, curimbata, piraputanga, jau and piau are some of the species found. There are plenty of reptiles, the main one being alligator (alligator-swampland and smooth-fronted caiman), snake-mouth sapo (Jararaca), anaconda, Boa Constrictor, Snake moorhen, water-snakes and other ), lizards (iguana, lizard-green) and turtles (turtle and tortoise).
Stayed in the Pantanal for 9 nights and it was fabulous for wildlife. Stayed at 3 different levels of accomodation, very basic lodge, Flotel & better apportioned lodge.
Roads are pretty rough so takes a long time to travel & you need as dust mask if you are in open transport
Saw more birds than I ever imagined, Capybyra, Jaguars, Ocelot, Otters, Caiman and much more.
Little to buy so not many places to spend money apart from drinks in lodges & the very occasional souvenir shop.
Fabulous place for photography

This church is located in the middle of the old city, The city was known for gold mining, and the hill where the Church is located is believed to still have some gold under the church.
Annually every June there are some Catholic festivals for the Saints John and Saint Benedict.

After a long night of having bbq and drinking, the trip there was a bit hard. But swimming in the water. Seeing the different fish, watching the birds, seeing the nosebears and seeing the swimming monkeys.

We ended up in Nobres because Bonito was completely out of our way. And we loved it! The enchanted aquarium (Aquario Encantado) is incredibly beautiful.
The aquarium is about 6m deep but the water is so clear that you have difficulties estimating how deep it is. In this clear water you see a variety of fish species swimming around: piraputanga, dourada, pacu, ancistrus and numerous tiny fish sometimes very colorful (look for the bright red but tiny 'Mato Grosso').
If you are in the north of the Pantanal, don't miss out on Nobres/Bom Jardim! For us it was one of the highlights of our trip through Brazil.

Cidade de Pedra is closed sinse 2008. You can not go there with guide or without guide, but almost nobody is talking about this, even on the oficial site of city Chapada dos Guimaraes they still didn't put information, they just put attractive information about Cidade de Pedra. And than you arrived in National park you find that even tour agency are not bringing close to Cidade de Pedra just to see this from downstairs. We wanted like another toursit to see this, and we asked in travel agency with name Chapada Explorer to see Cidade (ofice is in the front of the church, they told that Chapada is closed for trakking upstairs, but we are going to see from the side. It is not realy honest....... we saw Cidade from view point may be it was in 50-60 km from us. Sad... Also the trip with this agency is not good value for money. They asked from us 170 real per person for 2 persons and 140 per person if it will be 4 people, we were only 2. Trip with name Rio Claro is very simple, no lunch is included. Agency bring by car to entrance of the national park, there you start to walk between trees. During car driving you can see some nice places for pictures, spectacular views, but driver doesn't want to stop and shows unhappy face. Than you walk is hot and nothing to see. Guide is not speaking english.Good things are view point and swiming in Rio Claro with mask folowing current of river. Try to find another agency to do this trip, because Chapada Explorer is working only for money not for tourists.

If you come by car by night you can see...a achurch floating in the lights...what a vision!
It is the older church of Cuiabá, well conserved, I don't understand of building or architecture but it is just a beautiful presence.
Inside there is not great stained glasses, decoration is staid and classic, but charming.
