This restaurant's delectable cuisine might be described as light, fresh, fruity, and imaginative. The menu is a succession of pleasures where each dish has its own personality, while bearing a "family resemblance" with the other dishes as well as local traditions. Expert, friendly service and good wine selections further enhance the experience. This was my second visit, but hopefully not my last!

We were exploring the newer part of Caceres before heading for lunch and had read about Oquendo so popped in for a glass of wine. The service was friendly, the wine excellent and we were offered a free tapas each from six or so choices. We were about to leave when torrential rain started therefore we stayed for another wine and another tapas each from the selection. Based on the tapas we tried this would be on my list to re-visit and it was obvious from the local clientele of regulars that this is a highly rated bar & restaurant. This makes it even harder to understand some of the negative comments. Sometimes English speakers think everyone should speak good English even though visitors to the UK do not seem to expect or get service from people speaking their language.

Small, intimate, but with enough space between tables so guests don´t feel cramped, the sole reason to dine here is the full gastronomic experience. No detail is overlooked, from the selection of ingredients, through the table setting and the construction of the menu and wine list, to the service itself. So what´s on offer?
After a gentle welcome and being shown to your table, you are handed a list of possible choices. Some items remain on the list for a while, but many are simply selected by the chef for freshness and quality. Your server will explain. The wine list is extensive and features the best of local bodegas, but some wines from further afield are also included.
The kitchen brigade then cook to order with attention to detail, balance of tastes and presentation. They are proud of the suppliers they deal with, to the extent that a number of selected dishes come with a certificate of source quality. (Something that I had only previously come across in France).
We booked two dinners in advance, once to check the place out before confirming our second dinner (it was a birthday celebration and we wanted something very special from a set menu). We were so delighted that we have included Caceres on future itineraries purely because of our experience at madruelo.

In a street with numerous eclectic tapas bars this was a find, it was clean and comfortable and the bar staff could not have been more friendly and polite. We spoke limited Spanish and the staff limited English. We only went in for drinks but were supplied with several different gratis tapas with each. The food was excellent.

Cozy little cafe very close to the main square with Terrace where breakfast and snacks available , in addition to soft drinks , smoothies, iced teas and more.
TBH I've had better tostadas but this place is open early (good for tourists) friendly and food is ok. I think based on a couple of days in Spain the trick to tostadas is that it is crisp the whole way through sort of air dried grilled so when I get an ordinary one I'm a lil disappointed.

Everything was superb. First, main dishes, alcohol, Service. I couldn't believe my luck. We landed in Caceres for 1 night, on our way from Madrid to Lisbon. Turns out it's a best kept secret I am now telling everyone about. Don't miss. And also, ask...MoreThank you for your opinión. Toda raba.

RESTAURANT Homarus run and Mari Luz Eleuterio Sanchez Martin, offering a wide and varied experience of more than 2 0 years of hospitality in different cities of Spain. Lute and Mari Luz offer from the kitchen to the table itself which serve a close personal attention to diners. We have a Wine Cellar overlooking the client from the same living room. We also have two reserved areas: One for up to 16 people. Another accommodate up to 18 people. Lounge booked with projector and screen for events. A comprehensive forum 96 people
We booked a table at the restaurant because of location, which is not great at all but it's conveniently out of the walls and therefore there is parking space in the street and no traffic jams to get there.
Restaurant was empty so we had a lovely quiet dinner with great service and ambiance. Music was nice and the waiter was available but not overwhelming, which was great. Food was all very good, and dishes are really good size so we barely got to share a dessert.
Worth a visit if you are staying outside the walls, the area is simple and there is nothing to see but you'll find plenty of space to park!

As Les Luthiers would say, "There is a better world but... It's very expensive!". Multifunctional place located in the historical and monumental old town of Cáceres (Spain). Four spaces (Gastrobar, Gin Club, Lounge and Garden) spread over 800 squared meters are integrated to deliver a different and unique concept of hostelry.
We kept walking by this place, on the S edge of the old town, but it was always closed until our last evening. We sat in the garden and chose €7 G&Ts from the very extensive gin menu. We also had a couple of tapas style dishes, quite tasty, eg squid ink rice, but a little expensive for Caceres. I think this place is best for a younger, well-heeled clientèle.

Lunch here in the Plaza Mayor following TripAdvisor recommendation was a treat. Don't be put off by the girl getting customers in, they work hard at it but there's lots of competition. Pleasant waitress and excellent value 12 Euro menu. As well as paella, solomillo de cerdo (pork) and tiramisu (all very good), there were lots of little extras - sausage and potato, melon cocktail. There was a large fan to keep us cool which I didn't see elsewhere. Recommended wine also good. Outdoor definitely recommend this place.
