If you are looking for high end tourist destination with modern amenities...then I am sorry that Chitkul "The last village on India-China border" is not your type of place. Rather, this 14-15 hr adventurous drive from Delhi took us to a place which is not much explored, still true to its roots and not overloaded with frenzy tourists. Another thing that is commendable is all weathered roads at almost whole route, just a small stretch which is not good due to continuous landslide.
Now the place. The place has its own charm. Small village located on the bank of river Baspa. Surrounded all around with Mountains. It has very few hotels with limited facility in terms of food and choice of rooms. and no TV in hotels...coz one does not come to this place to watch TV. No mobile connectivity except that of BSNL, No ATM. Must go for all thrill seeking travellers.

Sangla Valley is very scenic with Baspa river flowing and surrounded by snow covered Mountains. It is usually very cold throughout the year. Road from Karcham to Sangla is narrow and broken at many places. Requires a skilful driver. A visit is recommended for this less popular hill station. Kinnaur Kailash mountain is visible from here.

can be looked at for a visit, but there is quite a steep walk to the same and takes time. its between current habitation, will see people staying around. very less information on its past or heritage. but the view around is good...

5 days' adventure trip with Thrillophilia to Kinnaur was, so far, the best trip I've been to. End moment bookings, yet admirable service. Team went an extra mile to help us make the trip a memorable one. We had to cancel our bookings at the end moment for some personal reasons and then we rebooked it a day later. We got our refund for the first trip within a day.
Thrillophilia's Spiti valley to Kinnaur trip is undoubtedly a complete package in itself. Explore the beauty of these places to the fullest, you'll never want to come back from there:)
Highly recommended.

Chitkul is approximately 20 kms from Sangla..the last village on the indo-tibet border..
surrounded by Mountains and situated alongside Baspa river..a nature enthusiasts dream!
remote, unexplored and far from civilization, Chitkul has incredible beauty..!
people here have spotted snow leopards and black bears..
Should be visited before it becomes a tourist spot..!

The Berinag temple is a large complex with a buddhist temple and a nag/shiva temple in it. The walls have lovely, traditional Himachali woodwork, and it is all very colorful. When we visited, the buddhist monks had just finished their prayers and shortly after that the rituals started in the nag temple. The temple is a short walk down from the main market/street, passing through a village with traditional and small backyard apple Gardens. Further down the temple, you can walk down to the Baspa river- with a small bridge and beautiful view of the Kinner Kailash and other snow clad peaks.

We had been for Rupin Pass trek on June 2013 with Indiahikes and the journey across the pass is one of the most beautiful I have ever had. We started from Dhaula in Uttarakhand and ended at Sangla in Himachal Pradesh. We were treated with unmatched beauty everyday in the form of Valleys, falls, cliffs, Mountains, etc. Few of the highlights were climb on frozen waterfall and ice slide after pass. I would rate this trek as moderate to difficult.

We visited the Trout farm at Sangla in July; however since the season was nearly ending for that area we could not see to our hearts content; not to mention the drizzle which cut our visit short. Nevertheless the experience and knowledge was quite enriching
