Unbelievable location for wedding, a 1,000 years old castle with beautiful spaces and rooms. The owner family was very nice, helpful and kind, helping with the organization of quite a complex wedding event.

My son and daughter in law chose Gavinell as the location for their wedding celebration in July 13. Although we live in London, the whole process was relatively straightforward and the day itself was absolutely brilliant. Luciano and family were very accomodating and the chef, Andrea was excellent. The staff were professional and polite and our guests were very impressed with the quality of food and the beautiful surroundings. I would not hesitate to recommend Gavinell as a wedding venue.

My husband had his first pedicure at the Centro Benessere - and thoroughly enjoyed it.
While I waited I enjoyed a calm time in the Bar with a book and a coffee. The building itself is well worth a visit with its beautiful art on the walls inside and out. There are guided tours, but not on the day we were there.

Cantina il Poggio is a winery located inside Tenuta il Poggiolo, a 28 hectares estate. We produce both still and sparkling wines from our grapes Malvasia di Candia Aromatica, Barbera, Bonarda, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon. We show the winery and explain about winemaking tecniques and than we taste the wines in the peculiar tasting room situated 400 m above sea level from which you can enjoy a stunning view of Salso Hills.
Filippo was our guide for our visit to this small cantina. He was excellent and explained everything in his best English. Along our wine tasting he had prepared bread with olive oil and parmesan cheese too.....delicious! The wines were really good and very good value to buy. We hope to get some shipped over to the UK.

It is a nice art nouveau-buiding in a peculiar style that houses the Tourist Office and a cosmetics shop, some 20 steps away from Terme Berzieri.

The Palazzo Congressi is somewhere else and looks completely different. It is a beautiful, but run down Building (like most in Salsomaggiore), is serves for several purposes and only the interior is well maintained. Worthwhile visiting.
