We came here with the family because we had always heard that this is a must try.
Our expectations were high, and thankfully the restaurant lived up to all the hype.
We ordered the Gigi special pizza, which is an All-Dressed + Steak... WOW!!! It was fantastic...
The crust was just right.
This place is a must try!!! The only problem could be parking in the area though... so come early..

Always a great dining experience, this bustling family-run pasta emporium keeps us coming back. Not only do they offer our favourite Italian dishes their grilled steaks and lamb are also cooked to perfection. Ample portions, fair prices and friendly accommodating staff earn these guys top marks. Bravo!

This is truly a dining jewel in Pointe-Claire village! We had the salmon and it was simply delightful. Portion size is definitely adequate, you don't leave hungry and food is fresh and of high quality! Recommend Reservations on Saturday night, or you don't get in. City parking just across (max 3 hr duration). Not really wheel-chair accessible. The interior so incredibly quaint, old-fashioned (former) stone house that's been converted. Unique art pieces on wall lending to over all warmth of the place, ambiance. It is pricey, but good food usually is.

Very good quality and affordable food for lunch. Variety of lunch specials, e.g. $20 includes soup or garden salad and salmon with potatoes and veggies. Coffee or tea included. The veal & pasta and pizza dishes my co-workers had looked good too. There were no complaints from us regarding the food but service was a bit slow even though we arrived before lunch hour and the place was fairly empty. Waitress was probably inexperienced as she did not ask for our drink order first but let us wait a long time before taking both our drink order and our lunch order.

Excellent food and service - a little on the noisy and crowded side, but worth it.
A very popular dinning destination for every group celebration in the area. As such, weekends are particularly busy with large table gatherings.
Food and service are superb!
Reservations are a must.

We were 10 people. We all ordered different entrees. Also had appetizers : burrata, sausage and peppers and calamari. All were excellent. Steaks are also very good considering this is an Italian resto. Really good steakhouse quality steaks.
Prices are expensive for what you get especially with the pasta plates. That is where they make most profit margins.
Good selection of wines too. Ambiance was good. Quiet and dark. Service was excellent. Would have gotten 5 stars if the prices were overall inferior by 20%.
Highly recommended.

If you want to share a culinary secret, visit Bistro Merlot. Nestled in the heart of the West Island, Bistro Merlot offers an inviting atmosphere and authentic dining. Celebrate and dine with friends and family, Bistro Merlot our little neighborhood restaurant will provide a warm greeting and serve you delicious quality meals in a charming ambiance.
It was serendipity that I fell upon an advert for a Tapas Night at Bistro merlot, had never heard of the place before.
Myself and a friend went, with interest and curiosity. it wasn't "tapas" as one would expect from the word, more like a multi-course tasting menu.
As others have remarked, it's in a strip mall, but it's a quaint little place; kinda plain but clean.
The service was great, but keep in mind the menu is identical for every table, so it's MUCH easier to manage, but each table was served each course at the same time. The menu theme was called "Oriental"; food was okay, nothing spectacular, best dish was the tuna with green mango salad. the dumpling, spring rolls and fried ice cream could have come from the frozen aisle of the grocery store, very ordinary and unremarkable.
Would I go here again? I would consider it, small local businesses need to be nurtured and encouraged and restaurants in the West Island, while getting better, still leave much to be desired. It wasn't horrible, but i would likely try a regular meal instead of one of their theme evenings to get a better impression of what they offer.

Bring your own wine.
My mother had been raving about this restaurant for months. She spoke very highly of its food quality. My mother is an incredible cook herself and I trust her opinion on food. This last time I visited home we finally went to this famed restaurant.
We were greeted with hugs and cheek kisses as we walked in (no worries, my mother is a frequent flyer and she is on first name basis with the big guy, which is probably why we got greeted this way). After choosing our table we immediately got our drink orders taken. The restaurant has a "House Sparkling Water" in bottles that have the restaurant logo on it. I thought that was pretty neat! Nobody really puts details in stuff like this anymore.
I've heard everything there is good, however our table of six all ordered pizza. You can choose a pizza or personalize one.
After taking our orders we got some thick and warm foccacia. SO GOOD. Tear it open and spread some butter in there.
Fair warning: the 12-inch pizzas are big. they do not skimp on ingredients and the dough is semi-thick. It's both crispy and smooth.
Whatever you get, make sure to ask for "La Bomba". It's a spread that is spicy (made with spicy peppers) that I like to drizzle over basically everything. Trust me, use a little bit for flavor and it won't be that spicy, just a kick.

Food selection, quality and preparation are excellent, BYOW makes dining much more affordable. Service was great and not overbearing. Very comfortable Seating.
It’s on île bizzare, and réservations are required and since they are so popular might take a while to get. Is it worth the travel and wait to book a time? Absolutely
Enjoy
