Fascinating history of a crypt built on site before, oddly, the church over it, in which relics of a now delisted Saint Hermes were placed. The Saint cured the mentally ill, thus this place became a mapecca regionally for mental I'll and their families to come to for an expensive series of ceremonies to rid them of their illness. Wow, if this does not prove that religion is based in superstition, nothing does. The church and the Ronse area profited greatly from this over the centuries, and it became their primary income for many. The crypt is visually interesting but poorly curated. A good overview was lacking. Lots of thing to look at but one does not have a sense of the big picture as I just gave above (gleaned from Wikipedia mostly, not from my visit).

Quintine blonde , ambrée ou bio et la fameuse Hercule. N'hésitez pas à y venir faire un tour, qui sait vous y rencontrerez peut-être la fameuse sorcière "Quintine"

On our way to the "Vlaamse Ardennen" we stopped in Oudenaarde. After years of work the restoration ended up to be great, but the tapestries remain unique. They represent 3 centuries of flemish interior design, nowhere else to be found.

If you are a cycling fan you should not miss the Eddy Merckx monument in Stavelot, Belgium. The monument is located near the top of the hill on the right side of the road about a mile or two south of Stavelot where Stockeu Road and the Route de Somagne join together. It is a bronze relief depicting Eddy racing on a bike mounted to a rock. This monument can easily be missed so long down as you near the intersection. My wife is a cycling fan and was very excited to see the monument.

Two courses, "Kasteel" (castle) and "Anker (anchor). Kasteel is older, Anker was assembled more recently (about 10 yrs ago), so its tress still need to grow to attain the same charm as Kasteel. Anker is longer though, and more challenging. Use of practicing balls on the driving range is free. Clubhouse is nice old castle. On busy days order your drinks in time, coz' it can take some time before you get served. If you wish to eat, food is of good price/quality ratio.

When you are accompanied by a guide when visiting the museum you will become overwhelmed by teh detailled histories. In our situation teh guideexplained to much and went to far in detail, but you are not obliged to stay interessted of course. The restaurant was fine and the service was OK.

We arrived at the museum just when the 3 o'clock guided tour was to begin, it turned out we were the only 2 visitors and thought they would not find is worth giving us the tour. However the guide was an enthousiatic man who used to work in a weaving mill, and he was really happy to show us around. He really demonstrated each weaving device, explaining us very clearly how it worked and showing us the differences in cloth it produced. Time passed by (2 whole hours) and we were not bored during even 1 minute! Sadly enough there was no time left to visit the second part of the exhibition (furniture decoration ) but we had the time of our life there with this kind man. Even though the reception desk was about to close at 5 o'clock, they still left us some time to choose some presents to take home.
