Go Ride A Wave Ocean Grove runs 2 hour surf lessons every day at Ocean Grove. We run the lessons in waist deep water and provide full length Quicksilver wetsuits and soft beginner surfboards with 2 hours of instruction and fun. Our experienced instructors, who are also surf life savers, will get you standing and Surfing a wave in no time.
This was a good 2 hour surf. We met the instructor at the car park and he gave us wetsuits and a board and we were ready! The public changing rooms are very good here compared to others we have been to.
The wetsuits fit well and were in good condition. The G Boards (long surfboard) were in good condition and better than one of their competitors which we hired the following day.
I would recommend anyone to do this with this company. Great experience! I just hire the board and suit now. I may get another lesson in a few weeks to keep on track but I feel I just need more hours to myself to practice now.

We visited as a family ......grandpa ( me) , Nana , daughter , son-in-law and our three year old who is fascinated by all things in the wild . He has been birdwatching with us and points at birds with great enthusiasm. This is a not-for-profit complex that houses birds and animals that have been either bred here or rescued . They have a vet clinic here where people can bring injured wildlife . They also have pet boarding available . Some of the cages seem too small to me but I didn't question why . Maybe the Black Kites, Nankeen Kestrels etc aren't capable of long flights anymore . I was able to study the many raptors up extremely closely . I have never been that close to Bush Thick Knees either , Bush Stone-curlews in my texts . Dingoes. Emus , Kangaroos and Wallaby species . Wombats too . They have lots of caged cockies , corellas and galahs which have outlived their owners and have been given to this facility to look after. There was a collection of pythons too and a couple of Goanna species .
All in all, great birds and critters but some cages are a bit dated and maybe a bit more detailed information could be offered . The Gardens are lovely too. We could have stayed and had a picnic .
My wife and I both commented that we would love to be in the position to make a big donation . I see millions wasted on ridiculous projects yet this amazing haven is obviously in need of some major input . Our Seniors ticket at $15 was fantastic value and we both emptied our pockets of change into the donation tin.
Call in , have a look and help them in their work

You may have played mini golf or putt putt before but never like this. Bellarine Adventure Golf takes the game to another level. Set amongst beautiful Gardens complete with creeks and Waterfalls, the 36 ingeniously crafted holes will keep players of all ages both entertained and challenged. Multi-level greens, balls that seem to defy the laws of gravity, tricky water hazards and sticky sand traps ensure that everyone’s games certainly will be an adventure in which both luck and skill play a part! There are two 18 hole courses to choose from: the Mill offers a great, fun course with plenty of shelter making it playable come rain, hail or shine while the Mountain course offers a bit more of a challenge for those wanting to really test their skills. Or play both courses, taking advantage of the generous discounts on second rounds. Their café offers great locally roasted coffee from Geelong’s own Capra Coffee and a good selection of snacks & cookies to enjoy along with it. Groups, clubs and schools love the function room and BBQ facilities plus the delicious catering that is available. Kids’ birthday parties are also a specialty.
The mini golf was so much fun until we came across the 'aviary'. I felt so sick and upset after this.
We live in suburban Melbourne and enjoy seeing cockatoos, pigeons and galahs run around enjoying the freedom to live instinctively.
This aviary is small and not conducive to stimulating the beautiful, intelligent birds kept within.
It is completely unnecessary to keep these birds here - the mini golf speaks for itself.
Please consider letting the birds free so that they can begin to enjoy natural wild behaviour and wishes like flying, mating, foraging... it is so sad to see them bored and relying on humans for attention whilst stuck at the back of the mini golf grounds.
All the best to you and your business - hoping you make the right choice.

Dining on board The Q Train is a unique culinary experience. A restaurant on board a train, departing from the historic Drysdale Train Station, and travelling along the picturesque Bellarine Railway. Showcasing food, wine, beer and cider from the local regions.
We dined in the first class option which was amazing. You could wander about the carriages or relax and enjoy the views from your own booth. The degustation menu was beautiful with matching beverages and the scenery as you traveled along was magnificent. Definitely be back to travel again. Best part of all was the service we received from the staff incredibly nice team of helpful people. And they support local producers as well.

Point Nepean really is one of Victoria's beautiful natural landscapes. With so much to see and discover, its rich history has played an important role in shaping the early settlement, quarantine and defence of Victoria. The park has outstanding coastal scenery and panoramic views of Bass Strait, the Rip and Port Phillip Bay. Explore the military forts and tunnels, discover the historic Quarantine Station, view the memorial where Prime Minister Harold Holt went missing or simply enjoy the coastal surrounds. Visitors can park at the Quarantine Station or alternatively park at Gunners Cottage and walk or cycle the 2.6 kilometers to Fort Nepean. Bikes can be hired from the Point Nepean Information Centre. An all-terrain beach wheelchair can be borrowed for free and booked by contacting the Information Centre. A hop on hop off shuttle operates from 10:30am to 4:00pm daily between Quarantine Station and Fort Nepean (tickets can be purchased from the shuttle bus). Point Nepean is located 90km from Melbourne. In addition to car access, public transport options include a train service from Melbourne to Frankston followed by a bus to Portsea. From the other side of Port Phillip Bay, the Queenscliff to Sorrento ferry operates on the hour from 7am to 6pm (with extended summer hours).
Point Nepean National Park has some incredible history. It is claimed for instance that the Gun implacement at the entrance to Port Phillip bay and contained within the Park fired the first allied shots of WW1 and WW2.
The Landscape is stark, windswept but beautiful. The remnants of the old Fort are fascinating as is the Quarantine Station. Well worth a visit.

Great Family Entertaiment, enjoy the rare opportunity to tour a 19th century Coastal Artillery Fort. Amongst underground magazine, inside the Keep, fascinating artifacts and historial objects is the opportunity to try on uniforms from different moments in time. WSUP - Standup Paddle Boarding lessons are a fantastic way to be introduced to the sport of Paddleboarding. Our friendly, qualified and experienced staff will take you on a journey to the unknown, paddling your favourite waterway.
Our youngest was reluctant to try, but the friendly staff had her standing up in no time! We hired a board when the tide was on its way in, which made it very difficult for them to paddle against it. Despite that the kids really enjoyed themselves and can’t wait to go back to try again.

On 93 hectares of coastal farmland in Wallington, you will find Oakdene's boutique vineyard, award winning restaurant and cellar door. Situated near Ocean Grove, Wallington is found on the Bellarine Peninsula, approximately 20 kilometres east of Geelong and 90 kilometres south of Melbourne. The region enjoys a cool, maritime climate that moderates the weather patterns, resulting in a long cool growing season, producing low yields of high quality fruit. Established in 2001, Oakdene specialises in the varieties best suited to the region: chardonnay, pinot noir, shiraz, pinot gris and sauvignon blanc, and the range includes both still and sparkling wines. The wines are elegant and complex and reflect the true varietal character of the region. Dedication in the vineyard and winery has produced immediate results, with wines awarded medals and trophies at major wine shows and a 5-star rating in James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion 2014. Visitors can enjoy daily informative or tutored wine tastings in Oakdene's uniquely designed Cellar Door, while experiencing estate grown olive oil, orchids and lavender products. A visit to Oakdene would not be complete without dining at Oakdene Restaurant, the perfect place to match estate grown Bellarine Peninsula wines with the menu of seasonal, local and regional produce prepared with passion and flair. Various dining options are available, including a la carte and degustation menus, private dining rooms or more casual dining in the garden. Find out for yourself why Oakdene restaurant recently received the national award for Best Restaurant in a Winery and Best Tourism Restaurant at the prestigious Restaurant & Catering National Awards for Excellence in 2013. Oakdene also caters for weddings and special events, offers three beautifully appointed themed accommodation rooms, and is simply a place to experience, not just to visit.
We visit each year when staying at Barwon Heads. One of my personal favourites in the area. Very art driven particularly the manner in which the building s have been designed. Always start with a wine tasting - very good quality here in particular the Estate Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and the William Shiraz (all rate very highly with the likes of highly esteemed wine critic James Halliday). We then take in lunch at the venue - lovely setting beneath a myriad of Silver Birch trees. Always very welcoming, attentive with smiles all round. Normally I have the whole Barramundi dish but this time elected to try the Porterhouse steak with peppercorn sauce. Should have stuck to the Barramundi - the only blemish this time around (appearance wise looked as though it had been frozen, too much fat + the sauce killed any flavour from the steak). Otherwise still a much enjoyable experience.

Whether it's a walk along the beach with your dog, a swim in the ocean or just lazing in the sun, this is the spot. Once you have made it over the sand dunes via one of the several pathways and stairs, you have miles of natural beauty to enjoy. Unspoiled and family friendly, it offers so much .... and it's free! But please, if you bring a dog make sure that you clean up after it so that you don't spoil the pleasure of others.

For something decidedly different and entirely enjoyable, Queenscliff's legendary Blues Train is one of Victoria's most spectacular entertainment and dining experiences. The Blues Train departs Queenscliff between the months of August and May, offering a unique musical meal and show. With a capacity of 200 (50 in each of the four carriages) it has become enormously popular as a function venue and can accommodate and provide catering for parties of one to 200 people for a unique dinner and show - including weddings, birthday parties, corporate functions, christmas celebrations and special occasions. The Blues Train event begins at the historic town of Queenscliff. Patrons tuck into a hearty meal prepared by our Blues Train caterers. Drinks to take on the journey are available on the platform from the T-bar in the guard's van, open at each of the four stops. At each stop revellers swap carriages to find a new band tuning-up ready for the next act. One of the carriages only has Seating running along each wall. The Seating arrangement and up-beat music in this carriage leaves little option other than getting up for a bit of a boogie. But you don't have to dig the blues to enjoy the Blues Train, you just have to be open to a really good time. The Blues Train runs along the old Geelong train line, stopping in turn at Suma Park historic homestead and winery, and then at Drysdale before turning around and making its way back to Queenscliff, again via Suma Park. The Blues Train has hosted many great musicians since its inception, including Aussie blues legends Jimi Hocking, Chris Wilson and Lloyd Spiegel and Aria Award winners Collard Greens and Gravy and Mia Dyson.
We had the best night out on the Blues Train. Meal was great, and they accomodated for my eating issues, with a special meal. Staff were great, courtious, helpful and nothing was a problem. Entertainment was awesome, the piano man was our favourite, but all the artists were great. A great night out celebrating our Wedding Anniversary. We'll be back!
