Beenleigh is Australia's original rum. Created before any other rum in the country. And over 130 years later, we're still making rum the traditional, "boutique" way. Still operating from our original stone building upon the banks of the Albert River at Eagleby. Still exclusively sourcing Australia's finest molasses from the country's only remaining family-owned sugar mill. And still pot stilling using our original copper equipment. We then age every drop of our golden liquid gracefully in handmade oak brandy barrels to create Beenleigh's distinctive, luscious flavour and its velvety smooth finish. Making it perfect for sipping neat or over ice. Like only a truly great rum can be. Visit Australia's oldest registered and continuously working distillery. Join us for a tour to learn about our history and the colourful people that have made the Beenleigh Artisan Distillery an iconic Queensland attraction. Understand how our master distillers craft quality award winning rums and sit back and enjoy the flavour, textures and aromas as part of the tasting experience.
The distillery was easy to get to. Although being an artisan distillery with only two distillers, it remains humble. The tour was very interesting and our guide, Danielle was very kind and approachable. The tasting was an enjoyable experience. I recomend both the classsic and...MoreHi melmudhfkwong. Wow sometimes the best places are right under our nose. We observed a abundance of activities going on as we did a small circuit. Personal Trainers and their teams, Cycle carnival, a lad netting tadpoles, ducks, water birds and fowls, doggies having a morning walk, families using the barbecues, kids using the play equipment at Funderworld park, girls playing netball. A credit to Logan City Council for providing and maintaining such a great open facility.

Logan North's library is enormous and so diverse. It has books for all ages, a Wii & Playstation, dozens of computer stations and even large study rooms for group-study. They frequently run workshops for people to improve their literacy, art and/or resumes to name but just a few. It's all very modern, spacious and beautifully laid-out. You'll hardly notice anyone else there, except for the friendly staff. It's even free to sign-up.

International Foods, eat in or Take Away. Fresh exotic Fruits, Vegetables, nuts and plants. Fresh Flowers.
Wow. The cheapest fresh food market we've ever found. And superb choice. Its not glamorous but sure is fun. Cultural melting pot. Fascinating. It wont make the top ten of Brisbane's to do list, but great way to spend a different sort of sunday morning exploring.

The well kept park is situated at an artificial lake which you can walk around in about an hour.
You can find picnic areas, barbecue (electric), a playground, toilets (including wheelchair toilets) and the area is used as a wedding location.
There are a number of walking tracks around the lake and you can have a picnic at the waterfront. You can find a map on the Logan City Council website.

This is a lovely picnic area with a lot of interest for people of all ages. The Museum is one of approx. six buildings - an old school house, a craft cottage, a dance hall, a barn full of agricultural equipment and tools - and all are full of memorabilia. My club members had morning tea under a huge pergola, and then proceeded to investigate the buildings. Just down the road is the Logan Village Tavern, a perfect place for a reasonably priced lunch.
This area was a bustling centre of commerce and the stopping off place for steamers up the Logan River, back in the 1860s and 70s. Now it's a peaceful country day trip.
