Discover the Diamond Rock and the most beautiful Beaches in the south of Martinique in the sea scooter, accompanied by Yoann, your qualified instructor. Several options are available to meet your needs for relaxation and discovery.
We did the 1h tour around the Rocher du Diamant and into the mangroves. It was our first time on a jet-ski and we were given a good introduction by Yoann, who is both the owner and the instructor. We followed him around the Rocher du Diamant. Yoann was going at pretty high speeds, so we could have a lot of fun, even as beginners :)
The mangroves were fascinating as well. But of course we had to go at a very slow speed in there. So if you just want to do the highspeed stuff, make sure you book a tour without the mangroves.
The place was a bit tricky to find. It's located between to the premises of the abandoned Diamond Rock Hotel and the fisherport. The coordinates for your GPS are 14.473757,-61.007975

Diving and boat trip around the Diamond Rock
Went diving with An Dlo at Le Roche du Diamant!
Excellent site, great visibility, current not too strong, wall diving, vibrant colors, a few underwater caves and quite a few fish around. Only saw a couple of large, ready to cull and eat Lion fish hiding inside a sponge--Paul says they catch them regularly which is why there aren't so many around. Surprising to see large parrot fish despite this not being a marine reserve area (only the land portion, the rock itself is a nature park--hefty fines if you get on the rock, they have a camera installed, so don't)
Paul from An Dlo was a great guide underwater, safe and sound, easy going dive. There are turtles around but have not seen any or any sharks or rays. The reef and marine life looks healthier than most places in this region, really worth going! Can also snorkel here if diving is not your thing.

A giant seaside rock once used by the British as an armed fort, now a diving site for the more adventurous scuba diver.
Seeing this beautiful rock rising up out of the sea was mesmerizing. Such natural beauty. Hearing locals tell the stories of battles between the French and British over this rock adds to the mystique!

Centre de plongée sous-marine situé au Diamant. Baptêmes et explorations l'après-midi au Rocher du Diamant, explorations le matin dans la baie du Diamant
Our family of 15 was meeting in Martinique to celebrate a big milestone. Included were some seasoned divers, and some complete beginners (like myself). Carine and Karim were able to accommodate our diverse group in several outings. They helped out with the scheduling and were easy to communicate with, responding promptly by e-mail (and on the phone when the date was approaching). Everybody came back thrilled: the experienced divers got to go out to various dive spots and were guided to new adventures; the newbies got special one-on-one attention from the team, and dove near Diamond Rock after a technical briefing. The variety of the sea life is amazing within a this immediate area, so everybody got to see a wide variety of underwater fauna. They were even able to accommodate my 9 year old son, who could dive less deep but still got to see several turtles (among many other things), and returned completely hooked. He now says that he wants to grow up to be a diving instructor, which reflects how thrilled he was with the dive, but also with the instructors who inspired him. I dove once with Aurelien and once with Karim, and both were super patient, very upbeat and willing to accommodate my initial nervousness and then increasing comfort with the dives. Carine was amazing with my 9 year old and with my teenagers alike. All three were super fun and it was a pleasure spending our afternoons with them, be it before and after the dives, on their boat, and in the water. Their equipment is top notch, and they are just fantastic instructors for all levels. I could not recommend them more warmly.

Musee des Coquillages et de la Mer or Sea and Sea Shell Museum was rated pretty high here on TripAdvisor. They have since moved and changed their name! They are still in Diamant but they are now by Trois Ilets in the Pottery Village (Village de Poterie). They are now called "Le Musee du Monde Marin" or "The Sea World Museum." Being new to Martinique I wasn't sure what we would find but we decided to go for it. The address that comes up on google maps will take you to the old location which is now abandoned and not used so ... don't do that. Instead, search for Village de Poterie where it is now located. The museum is located right inside this collection of little shops and they are all within walking distance.
Take the red clay road to the Pottery Village where you will park your car wherever. The museum is pretty deep inside this collection of stores. We came on a Sunday so most of the other stores were closed by the Shell Museum was still open. Not sure what they changed about the museum to make it more than shells but that was pretty much all of it with the exception of a few large dried sharks on display which I might say was pretty cool.
The only other large collection of shells that I had seen in all my travels had been the Shell Shop in Morro Bay, California. They, however, were a store selling sea shells whereas this place is shells on display. They have a large collection of shells from around the world with a few from the Martinique Caribbean area. Although all the signage is in French, the scientific names are all in Latin. There are no tours here so just jump right in and help yourself. There is a cashier by the door who will take your Euros. It is 5 Euros for an adult and 3 Euros for children from 4-12 years old. I do not believe they take credit cards.
They are open 7 days a week year round from 9 AM to 6PM. Surprisingly, they heavily advertise throughout the island. If this were a Michelin restaurant, I would give it 1 star. If you're in the area, it's worth the detour but not necessarily a special trip. Fun though for those who like shells. They do have a fair number of shells for sale as well including large conch shells, tritons and misc others that you can find locally but nice specimens. However, nothing rare that some serious collectors would be looking for. Fun trip that took about 45 min to get through if even that. Remember that there is a second room that you need to walk out to see. There are cool crustaceans over there. Enjoyed my time but would not need to go back!

This church was recently renovated. It is a great example of simple, beautiful, Caribbean architecture. Take a quick peek inside and walk around. We were lucky enough to visit the week before Christmas, so there were a bunch of homemade nativity scenes in the back of the church! Super charming, helps you remember the true spirit of Christmas.

We went to beach #1 and beach #5 of the Diamant beach stretch. There are 6 sections total. Beach #1 is close to the restaurant, small food merchants on the parking lot and little store (and close to the city) and while it was nice, we noticed drug dealing (probably just pot) and it was a bit dirty. Water is super awesome for body-boarding! All of the family (with two boys, 5 and 7) had so much fun doing some body-boarding! Perfect waves. Safe waves and little-to-no under-tone. No rocks, just sand, etc. This is our best of the dozen Beaches of the island we tried. Beach #5 is better than #1: no drug-dealers nearby, quieter while keeping the same awesome waves. So much fun body-boarding!
