We walked & splashed water along this easy to find beach. It is uncharacteristically clean for an Indonesian beach. The waves are not threatening to children if you have them, more like lagoon waves than ocean. NB:There is no beer for sale here&we were warned of this so packed a cooler (I hope this helps you plan your day out frollicking on a south east asian beach)

Jepara Ourland Park

Reviewed By Ilafya N

For the biggest water park at Jateng province it's still need a lot of improvement (maybe because it's not finished yet) the water sport rides needs more variety, the changing rooms and toilets are too few. We are prohibited from bringing our own food but the food stalls there are too few and not much choice in variety so we'll go starving if there's long queues.
Maybe if we go on regular day (not holiday season) we'll enjoy the place better, and the entrance ticket we pay (75k rupiahs per person) would be worth it.

Finally had a chance to visit this Fort.
Be there with the kids, they had a good time. Running around and play.
But, this place need to clean it up. All the tourist leave their trash all over the place.
Bit shame tho. Because this place had a great view. It takes about 60minutes from our place at Bandengan. This is a good place to take pictures. hahaha

Kartini Beach

Reviewed By AndrevdM - Jakarta, Indonesia

Kartini Beach is an amusement park which can be quite busy during weekends and holidays but otherwise (very) quiet.
It provides some simple rides for children, some small hotels, souvenir shops, restaurants and cafes, all simple. The most remarkable building is the Ocean Park: a huge concrete turtle is a seaqarium!
It is all not really enough to warrant a special visit but many tourists travel through here to take the boat to the Karimunjava Islands.

Bandengan Beach

Reviewed By huuysandra - Yogyakarta, Indonesia

I am long enough in Jepara month of August and September. there is little activity there. I invited my partner to come to the beach Bandengan. Initially I was not interested, because it was 1 pm and I'm sure the heat. coupled with the experience that is not so interesting on the beach kartini, I am not sure that I visited a new beach is quite interesting.
a half hour drive from where we live, salty wind has been felt. the entrance to the beach is ugly, so should be careful. Rp 5000 the entry fee per person. because I use a bike, I could park anywhere.
The first impression upon arrival there is, quiet Beaches. no big waves that roll down like other Beaches I've ever come. white sand, but a bit dirty because there is no public awareness to keep clean. plus subtract the trash so that visitors littering.
many activities that can be done there. No banana boating, and skiing. there are small shops that provide food as well, but for cleanliness I do not know. resorts and hotels are at the entrance to this beach. it might be more fun when it comes in the morning or afternoon.
because the water is calm, we can swim any time.

Mantingan Mosque

Reviewed By Raymond W - Chengdu, China

Jepara is a very quiet and very hot country town today that is known as the centre of teak woodcarving in Indonesia. You would hardly guess to look at it today but it once produced some of Java's fieriest generals. In the 17th century it gave borth to two Muslim military expeditions, which sailed all the way to Malacca in mdoern Malaysia in attempt to drive out the Portuguese infidel.
The best place to get a glimpse of the Jepara Kingdom, almost forgotten today, is still the Mantingan Mosque, which is probably the third oldest mosque in Java, dating back to 1481. It is a small rustic mosque whose principal beauty is the carved medallions featuring floral and vegetal motifs, which are set into the walls.
