Had lunch here. Ordered fried chicken livers, nasi uduk (coconut rice w/ fried onion and chili), grilled chicken leg, a salad of cabbage and cucumber with spicy peanut sauce. All good to very good. Service was pleasant and the interior is spectacular. Prices for the things we ordered were fair. 45,000 for a big Bintang was also reasonable. Well worth a visit.

We showed up at 10 on a weekday morning and experienced none of the problems getting seated and served that some other reviewers report. Had a couple of excellent lumpia goreng, with a little side of cucumber salad. Just 15,00 rupiah each. Staff were helpful, if business-like.

If you like hot soup you will enjoy asem2 Koh Liem. The taste is quite tasty.. sweet and hot and the meat very soft. If you come at lunch time you have to wait because it was full of visitors.

I have not visited this particular establishment for quite sometime (few years already since my last visit). Few weeks ago, I decided to visit them again for 2 weekends in a row. My first visit (slightly after 12:00 pm on Sunday) was good since I had to wait for approx. 10~15 minutes before getting my orders.
However, my 2nd visit (approx. at 3:00 pm) turned out to be a disaster since I had to wait almost an hour 45 minutes to get my orders but that's how they worked (FIFO/first in first out) and that's the price we had to sacrifice in order to get their famous lekker.

I would like to share my experience dining at Soto Kudus Mbak Lin during weekend before this past weekend. We decided to dine in at this particular establishment after finding the food stall we plan to visit, in the same food court area, had closed that evening.
Since it was our first time to visit and dine in at Soto Kudus Mbak Lin, we had no idea what to expect. It was not fully packed but there was quite a crowd eating there when we arrived. We placed our order and our orders were being served within 5 minutes. In my opinion, there was nothing special about Soto Kudus Mbak Lin (no offense).
Their Soto is good but there are many places serving better Soto Kudus than the one I had at Soto Kudus Mbak Lin. I do believe Soto Kudus Mbak Lin has their own (loyal) customers' base but as for me, I am not one of them (again, no offense).
Good fact about Soto Kudus Mbak Lin is they are located in a food court area close to Simpang 5 (easy to reach and find). They are inexpensive and open from 7 am - 10 pm every day.

If your taste palette leans toward saltier side, then this might not suit you. I am more to salty side, but this is still tolerable. Never tried anything like this, surprisingly good! The staffs are very friendly, greeted and directed us to the table, ordered 2 plates of spicy ('pedas') chicken rice.
The rice is shimmered in coconut milk and served with boiled egg, shredded chicken, and radish. Overall, i kinda like them. Do order the spicy ones if you don't like the sweet gravy taste. It's not too spicy, in my opinion.

Visited Semarang 2x but only 2 restaurants that really stick to my head & i am craving for more when i am in the city.. One of those is beringin..
The Fried Rice are our favorite.. Skip Your diet for this Resto. Get the fresh juices too & be adventurous to taste the mix & match juices...
If u travel solo just get the fried rice... If you travel in group, order some other dishes - all dishes I ordered before are delicious

Other than restaurant were really nice... especially if you are not come on busy hours.
The food from the restaurant was so awful. Most of them were too salty. Fish was not fresh, i dont know how long the fish already frozen.. For this kind of restaurant and the price i would recommend them to find better chef..!!

If you meatlover and spend minimal time at this place, I guess it would be bearable to visit this place. Otherwise, avoid. It is dirty, uncomforting and smells like abottoir. The place needs a thourough cleaning, cause the traffic jams pollutes the place like hell. The floor is full of trash and very dirty. Service is poor, not friendly at all. Never again!
