Small island which is easy to explore by foot. The church was closed and looked like being renovated and the museum was shut. A number of restaurants and small hotels. Some nice sandy bays. Visited from Benidorm for a two and a half hour visit which was enough for a meal and a wander. There was a lot of litter on the island and could do with tidying up. It needs a bit of investment.

Levante Beach is huge, Sandy , clean and gorgeous , lots of activity in the sea, sun loungers to relax and dream . Beautiful beach with palm trees to sit under if you don't want a sun lounger, we love ❤️ this beach. We live in Gran Alacant and our beach at Carabassi is also beautiful .

We underestimated the strength of alcohol in the hot hot hot sun. This is a beautiful beach bar with great customer service; the nuts served in a cup always put a smile on our face and so did the cocktails... and the beer. And the wine. And the shots. Within hours we were all on our fours using the beach like it was a cat litter. We hiked back up that mountain dodging the cars like the matrix. Once the door was bolted kathys head spun like regan in the exorcist- she was spraying from every orifice clutching a crusifix to her ham buts. We were all in bed at 8pm sleeping. Rupaul mopped kathys brow and read the New Testament... i'm just praying shes ok tomorrow- ive a feeling it'll be water by the litre for the remaining part of the hol.

We spent around 90 minutes here looking around at the sea creatures, watching the informative video and Reading the information pieces. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time and for €3 for adults and €1.50 for kids, it is absolutely brilliant value and a nice break from the hot sun for a while!
The conservation work they do here is amazing as well and the staff are really friendly - well recommended!

Easy to find. Catch a bus to Santa Pola from the new bus terminal you will see the M for Macdonalds, cross the road , and turn right to head towards Macdonalds , walk passed McDonalds and then take the next road left . It's a good ten minutes walk straight down this road.On the right you will pass the sports grounds and the Salt Museum and if you are luck you may spot some flamingoes. at the end of the road you will see the Pola Park .
We had children aged 4 14 Euro
And one aged 10 16 or 18 euro
If you add a adults to this it is 2 Euro extra and well worth it to go in the rides when little ones are hesitant.
I went on the quads with only four year old grandson and the bumping cars , train ,
We all had great fun ! The Park opens at 6.30pn and runs until about 1am .
The last bus back heading to Alicante is 10.30pm usually ( please check times due to festivals)
We went a second night which cost 5 euro entry ...........and missed the last bus
It cost us 10 Euro to get to Gran Alicant . The taxi rank is passed McDonalds and the Bus station near the tourist information. Or you can go to a stall near to the park entrance and they will call one for you.
All in all we had a fantastic time the children were out of the hot August sun and really I joyed all the rides .
We have been to Santa Pola many times and never gone to the Pola Park until this year
What a treat we have missed!
Please note the restaurants are fast food types .

Perched on a hillside, this historic 16th-century castle and fortress overlooks the town of Alicante.
We walked along the Promenade for about 10 mins. from the cruise ship port to the elevator entrance opposite the beach. Entrance fee was 2,70 euros, but was free for us seniors. Outside led to a Terrace with a canteen-like kiosk, tables & a uni-sex bathroom with a small line-up. One amazing view after another, steep stairs everywhere. Massive fortress, the best I've ever seen; never saw the restaurant as we missed the 2nd level somehow. We were tired after exploring the top level, wouldn't mind going back to see what we missed. If you read all about it beforehand, I don't think you need a guide. We only saw the brochure with a welcome map as we were leaving, darn, as that would have helped.

After eventually finding the narrow road off the N332 which leads up to the viewing platform at the lighthouse, we were pleasantly surprised to find what I believe is called the "Skywalk" viewing platform. From here you get tremendous views not only down to the beach below but out to sea and the island of Tabarca.
The narrow road up to the lighthouse from the main road is full of potholes, so drive slowly and carefully, and the short walk from where you park the car is a bit unsteady underfoot, good footwear is advised.
But still well worth a visit.

It's the type of place that's nice for a visit but not to keep on coming to . There are some static little market stalls there which do sell some nice things and mainly not overpriced . There are also some cafes along the Esplanade where you can get some fairly ordinary food and a drink inside or out . Sitting outside is nice and often buskers play to you while you sit and of course expect you to tip them . There is also the usual Macdonalds and Burger King . Not much to do except eat drink and observe , but then that's all that's required sometimes .
