Years ago, with talented chef 'Ned Bell' at its helm, owner of this winery fine-dining destination had the grandiose aspiration of transforming it into the 'French Laundry' of the Niagara wine region. Unfortunately, with only a short tenure, Chef Bell decided to depart for greener pastures on the west coast!
Although this sudden development was a devastating one, however, the owners managed to overcome the adversity and, through out all these years, managed to maintain this premise as one of the best winery dining destinations in the region.
With a fairly mild and partially sunny day, we decided to show our out-of-town guest a completely 'change-of-scenery' luncheon dining experience. Just like yesterday, when we have a whole empty cinema to ourselves. Today, we received a similar treatment by having the entire upper floor dining room of the restaurant all to ourselves as well! Unexpected Private Dining treatment! What a way to impress our guest! Ha!
Currently, under the guidance of Chef Matt Hemingson, Peninsula Ridge is offering some delightful French influence cuisine with a rustic touch, using mainly local and Canadian ingredients. Food was well executed with some interesting and delectable taste profile. Casing point, a flavorful, fork tender grass-fed beef brisket and Steamed Mussels with Lavender, fennel and Bee Pollen! Portions were surprisingly generous and IMO, extremely good value for money. Service was charming, efficient and friendly. As for the quaint decor and ambiance, the photos speak for itself!
BTW, of all the dishes savored, the star of the meal was an amazingly delicious ' Warm Local Pear Strudel with Forty Creek Whiskey ice cream and Chestnut cream '! Man! Was that goooood!!
Highly recommended for a wine country dining experience!

On the advise of someone on our wine tour we tried this place. We were not disappointed. Great tasting food with large portions for a good price. The waitress was great. We had an awesome end to our wine tasting day with great food.

We went here on a Thursday night for take out. I had the special platter and my wife had the chicken and shrimp pad thai. Everything was delicious and hot. Large portions especially the pad thai. The special platter is an appetizer but I had it for my meal and it was very good. We will definitely be back

I took my boyfriend, son, and his wife here for my sons 28th birthday.
My daughter in law had researched Syndicate online so we were expecting a special dinner. Sadly, it was not. The decor was average, the service fine, and the menu looked good. The kids had short rib tacos, which were average. 3 small tacos for $18. Not a lot of flavour and a great deal of cilantro and hot peppers, otherwise not much else to say.
The guys had blonde ale which was good, and i had the house cab sauv. which was also fine, its the food that was sub-par. It was almost like it had been forgotten under the heat lamps in the kitchen although the service was not slow. Where to start..the arrabbiata was So crazy hot it was almost uneatable. The pasta was overcooked and the portion small. The jambalaya was not hot, just warm and again had virtually no flavour. My perch was overcooked and crunchy on the edges and barely warm. would have to say all the mains were very disappointing. The creme brulee was ok, as was the chocolate pate. There was nothing outstanding about this meal. We would have had a better meal at any chain restaurant which is a real shame. With tip we paid over $220. and that is robbery for such a mediocre meal. if it was just my fellow and I, we would have sent the food back but it was a birthday dinner so didn't want to cause a problem. When all meals are bad, it says something to me. Perhaps the chef was off, and the B team was cooking?

Was at a surprise birthday party for a dear friend, of many years. Before he arrived I had a great coffee, one of the best(better than Tims, McDs and Starbucks) and it went very well with my Northern breakfast Sandwich was excellent. The atmosphere was excellent. We even had an area that was private, more or less at the end of the cafe. The staff were very good and helpful. Will try to come here again in the future.

We are a Sandwich Bar and Bakery that serves breakfast and lunch. We also offer prepared meals and weekly take home meals that serve two people. Everything is made on premise from scratch - stocks, soups, bread, pastries, salads, dips and lots more.
