Providing a respite to travelers trekking the north of Botswana, Gaborone is a young metropolis that experienced most of its boom with the discovery of diamonds in the 1970s. Its downtown is dominated by modern buildings and services, from glittering hotels to casinos. The Main Mall boasts a plethora of shops, while the surrounding area hosts monuments and government buildings. Monkeys and birds call out from the wetlands of Gaborone Game Reserve, and Kgale Hill delights with panoramic views.

We spent a day at the park. Rode the train and all available rides, but the rollercoaster was the most exciting. The "beach and water slides" provided a lot of excitement. The food was good and very affordable. The park keeps only five lions but...MoreGood day, Thank you for your review of our facility. Kind Regards, Dewald

A visit to ISKCON temple, which is very close to Gaborone CBD gets you to a smooth start for a Sunday Morning. You can experience the peaceful atmosphere there, enjoy the exquisite Architecture and if you are a believer of GOD, do prayer and meditate. They have recently started the Sunday Breakfast, which is priced right. They offer good vegetarian meal to start the day.

This Reserve is the most accessible to visitors to the capital city. Because the tours are self-driven it is convenient, easy, and inexpensive. Impala, kudu, and ostrich are fairly easy to locate but other species harder to find and film. Overall impression is a less well managed facility that some of the private reserves a little farther out from the city.

We stayed here two nights and found the game reserve fairly quiet - people and animals (sadly).
Roads are accessible by 4x4 and are fairly ok, very bumpy and lots of dust!
The park itself is reasonably priced, the camp site fee was a bit of a shock..
The camp site was ok, amazing location right next to the wild life and the stars are amazing. Pit toilet and diy shower were fine!
Bring lots of fire wood, you can stock up on water at the gate!

This dam is the essential heart of the arid Botswana capital of Gaborene, providing its water supply, a tourist attraction and water sports site.
Interesting spot for a visit especially when it is 95% full. Something that has not happened in a long time. The February rains hae swelled the upstream rivers resulting in the ustream dams being full and the overflow now making its way into the Gaborone dam. The fiil of the century.

The temple has very quite and peaceful environment. The prayers to Lord Krishna starts at 7:00 pm daily. They also offer prasadam (lunch or dinner) on pre-order basis.
