Had a great day out cycling around the Inishowen Coast. Only got wet once which didn't matter at all. Bikes were very good and the route was not too tough. Enjoyed the craic, the amazing views and the lovely lunch. Would definitely recommend this for a day out.

We spent a lazy afternoon wandering around Sean Park and exploring everything it had to offer.
My imagination ran wild, I could hear the wings of the fairies as they skirted around us, I could feel the nature and positivity as I turned each and every corner.
A great place for adults and kids alike!

My sister-in-law and I were looking forward to seeing this lighthouse for about six months, and we were not disappointed. I has to be one of the most beautiful Lighthouses in the world. It has a breathtaking view and its white color is fantastic against the blue of the sky and the water.

OLD COURTHOUSE LIFFORD
An extremely enjoyable dining experience in historic surroundings.
I’ve dined in the Old Courthouse in Lifford on a few occasions and have never been disappointed. Recently, I enjoyed a very well-presented, delicious lunch with my husband. On entering this historic, but beautifully restored old building we were warmly greeted by Danielle and Davina. These two very pleasant girls, were extremely efficient and helpful. I asked if it was possible to have a small plate of food, as I’ve learned from previous experiences that the portions are very generous in the Old Courthouse. Danielle advised me that even a small portion is normally quite adequate. How right she was! My husband declared that it was the most divine plate of tagliatelle he’d ever tasted. I thoroughly enjoyed pan-fried chicken in a pesto cream sauce, served with seasonal vegetables and fluffy mashed potatoes. The menu is extremely good value for money. The excellent chef, Carmel, certainly knows how to execute and present a beautiful, mouth-watering lunch. The Old Courthouse caters for parties and hosts Murder Mystery Nights as well as conducted tours of the old gaol. If you are in Lifford which nestles on the Donegal/Tyrone border, a tour of the Lifford Gaol and lunch in the Old Courthouse would certainly make your trip to this border town a memorable one.

I recall, in a lifetime involving a few unhurried Donegal visits, the road as an element of prime focus. This particular recent occasion, I'd been bumped by our rental agency to a better car than I'd ever previously engaged over a lifetime of fun sporty vehicles either owned or borrowed. That energizing turn enhanced this particular of our lengthy Irish coastal tours.
Armed with the ingredients of reliable asphalt, responsive gearshift, and compelling vista, we found ourselves as uplifted combo engaging delights previously concealed. One of the best of those became abundantly clear.
Mamore Gap's special and sometimes a wife's a tad less road engagement enthusiast than her husband .

Fort Dunree is situated 7 miles outside Buncrana on the Inishowen Peninsula, housing a Military Museum, Wildlife Discovery Room, Coffee Shop, stunning walks and majestic views of Lough Swilly it is a must for every visitor to Donegal
This impressive fort was originally built as a Royal Navy position during the Napoleonic Wars. So it’s over 200 years old now and still standing.
It is located on windy roads about 8 miles or so from Buncrana on the Inishowen peninsula. There’s plenty of free parking and the natural views are really impressive.
We spent over an hour going around. On arrival at the reception to pay we were directed into a film that explained the history of the area and it was interesting to find that even after Irish independence and the creation of the state there was an agreement with Britain that its troops would continue to keep operational control of the fort as it was considered strategically significant.
Those days are now long gone. Today the fort is a military museum with fascinating Exhibitions, and many displays about the birds, marine life and coastal vegetation of the area. It has a gift shop, an auditorium and trail walks.
There’s also a nearby coffee shop that serves up savoury & sweet treats, it offers free WiFi and it’s a very pleasant way to relax after a visit to the fort.

We travelled around Inch Island - beaches/church etc and then came across the Wild Fowl Reserve. There is plenty of parking available and places to sit. Its got fantastic views all around and there are a number of well signed paths to walk. Although we only saw some swans, there are a number of migratory birds etc found there.
This place is well worth a visit.

We frequently walk this Waterfall Path from the Tea Room when we are in this area of Donegal. It is a haven of tranquility, with trickling streams and puzzled-looking sheep grazing the banks.
This week we found ourselves entering beneath a banner at the gate, portraying a jolly-looking lady in her later years, with the name Doris Russo on it.
We did not know the significance of this until we reached the fall and found a group gathered about to pay tribute to this dear lady who we later found out had died, following many years of service to the locality in promoting this beautiful natural feature as a tourist gem.
Apologies to them if we intruded on a private interlude, and our gratitude to Doris, who has given us so many hours of tranquil pleasure in this beautiful little park.
