Les brains are relaxing, not too big but at least when I went quite busy.
The hamam was ok, clean but nothing special, simple Turkish saunas (steam). I was missing some of the beautiful architectural details that lots of hamam bath usually have. It was clean but lacked the 'ah this is nice feeling'.
The saunas are in an outside area, although under cover but still quite fresh, even on a breezy Summer's day.
The two pools are nice and warm (thermal baths) with lots of massage stream options.
There was the area for children which was unfortunately under construction/repair/renovation so it's a bit unfortunate given the entrance fee was still the same.
Beautiful views!!!

It’s more than 5 times I visit this place.
I like all the concepts. One thing I don’t like is “the audio” because it’s not so practice. It’s better if Maison Cailler also provide the earphone.
The quiz and film in the cinema: it’s better to change the film or quiz regularly.
The staff in the “tasting counter” is not really friendly. No smile at all.
Come on Maison Cailler. You can do better than this. Up grade your service and be more creative.

The Musee gruerien of Bulle, Gruyere Region "Stories to share": Ever since 1917, the Musee gruerien has been examining and highlighting the cultural heritage of the Gruyere region. Located close to the historical centre of Bulle, the museum offers since 2012 an interactive permanent exhibition: a circuit entitled "Gruyere - Footprints and Detours". A sign-posted path introduces you to the Gruyere region and its inhabitants. A vibrant, up-to-date overview of the cultural heritage. Dynamic lighting,an atmosphere that appeals to your feelings. Easy access for all ages. Reconstructions of interiors and themed areas tell of the economic, religious and social history of the inhabitants of the region between the 16th and 20th centuries. There are farmers' rooms, mountain cheese dairies, objects bearing witness to popular piety, everyday life and the pastoral cycle. Objects, costumes and documents reveal the richness of a traditional culture based on the farming of mountain pastures and trading of the famous Gruyere AOC cheese. Guided visits of the museum and the townwalk on demand. 150 square metres are given over to alternating presentations of the most beautiful and unique collections from the Museum's archives. A permanent exhibition of daguerrotypes by J.-Ph. Girault de Prangey. 350 square metres are given over to short-term topical and/or artistic Exhibitions. A theme-circuit has been specially designed for children. It includes items that can be manipulated and various games that are directly linked to the topics in each section. Children can, for example, play a memory game comparing Bulle in 1912 to the 21st century town, build a woodshingle roof or use a magnetic board to make up their own >.
a very interesting and very well done museum that presents the history, traditions and the developement of this beautiful region. a must see if you like gruyere

If you are in Central Switzerland, you have to visit Moleson and you have two options to reach the summit, the easy way or the hard way. Either way, the surrounds is a must to see! In my case, we took the gondola and we were treated with outstanding views of the Swiss Alps!!! On a clear day, you can see Mount Blanc! When the clouds start to roll in, it is awesome experience. You can either just stay in the restaurant or if you are fit, you can hike around!

Charmey Aventures is an entertainment park in Charmey (Gruyère district) that offers seven fun adventure trails in the woods. Enjoy the thrill of passing across suspension Bridges, giant Tyrolean rides (zip lines), ladders, and more, especially two crazy jumps from 13 meters high.Tickets are valid all day long. Also a treasure hunt and mountain scooter courses. Food truck non stop. Picnic place. Dogs are allowed. The park adventure team speaks french, english and german.
The Charmey Aventures was great! My 2 teenagers - 15 & 17 loved it and found it challenging! The adventure park is suitable for everyone from beginners to "experts." It's good for everyone from little kids - adults. My husband and I enjoyed the wonderful views of the pre-Alps while the kids were busy with the different challenges that the park has to offer.

Gruyères Castle has stood proudly atop a verdant hill in the heart of Switzerland since the 13th century. Surrounded by the magnificent Panorama of the Alpine foothills, the medieval fortress houses prestigious collections that bear witness to its long and rich history. The treasures to be found within its walls include the capes of the Order of the Golden Fleece and the intricate stained-glass windows dating from the Middle Ages; the frescoes commissioned by the bailiffs under the Ancien Régime; paintings by Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot and the troubadour decorations of the Salle des Chevaliers, created at Gruyères in the 19th century by a colony of passionate artists. From its ramparts to its French-style Gardens, from the guard room to its romantic salons, Gruyères Castle takes you on an adventure through eight centuries of art, history and legends.
Been to this lovely town a few times but this is the first time around the château. Only 12 Swiss francs per adult which is really cheep for Switzerland. It was very atmospheric and a really interesting couple of hours. Highly recommended.

Walked this of an afternoon with my teenage daughter- very easy hike - we started at Charmey where we followed the green hiking signs.
Beautiful scenes of the green blue lake as you walk along the sides and cross suspension Bridges. Most of the hike is through forest so nice and cool even in the summer.
Some people were fishing in the lake but not sure if swimming allowed.
After Broc we wanted to continue to Gruyere Castle but the trail signs became less clear so we aborted outside Broc and took a bus back.

Escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life and take time out to enjoy a fondue! An epicurean recipe for foodies! Join the vintage train in Bulle for Montbovon to enjoy a journey through the Gruyère countryside and savour a silky smooth Swiss cheese fondue* and a famous regional dessert.
The train departs from Bulle, a nice little town worth a short visit by itself. The trip is very well organized, with reserved seats for each group of passengers. It lasts about 2-3 hrs, with scenic views of the Fribourg region. The train is quite nicely restored, with cozy carriages and nice interiors. Personnel on board quite nice, and good selection of beverages. The fondue and dessert included in the menu are not too god or bad, just regular (but keep in mind that is cooked and served in a 1920s train!). We particularly appreciated the do-it-yourself part of the cooking, is real fun for both children and adults! However, the whole thing might be a bit heavy, since no more than bread is served to complement the cheese. On the downside the riding time is quite short, as the train is basically stopped after one hour of riding, and then stands still for another hour before heading back. Honestly, we were expecting a longer trip (or maybe a round tour to better enjoy the view). Also, no program/guide to the region is provided (that would be nice to understand what is actually seen from the window...) Overall a very nice and fun experience, that conjugates two of the most "swiss" things to do: train riding and cheese eating!

Télécabine Rapido Sky is a cable car in Charmey, Switzerland that serves as the main starting point for skiing or snowboarding. It's a small ski area so it sees far fewer visitors than more touristy places like Zermatt.
Price: If you're skiing/snowboarding and buy a lift ticket, a single adult ticket for the cable car for 1/2 day from 1230 to 1600 costs 34 chf, plus 5 chf per person for the electronic ticket which can be reused at other ski areas in Switzerland (for a total of 39 chf). If you already have the card, bring it so you don't have to buy it again.
Trail/Piste Info: Only about 20% of the pistes are beginner runs, 20% are intermediate, and the rest are advanced runs. We first skied the #8 blue run from Vounetz, the summit, to Plan Paccot. Without lessons and with limited tips from friends who were with us (V your skis to slow down), we had a rocky start on #8 but the lower parts of the trail are less steep and by the end of the first run, we were loving it. Unfortunately, they closed that piste because of wind when we were nearing the end of it so we couldn't repeat it. Instead, we skied the #11 blue run to Le Petit-Ganet, which seemed more of an intermediate slope to me. We had to take the cable car (included in our ticket price) from Le Petit-Ganet back down to the parking area instead of skiing #12 piste because of lack of snow at the lower elevations.
Other Activities: Cross country skiing is available with 25 km of trails for 10 chf. Snowshoe trails are available. In the summer, the cable car is available for hikers and only costs 14 chf per adult to ride to the top and hike down or 22 chf for a round trip ticket to the summit and back to the parking area at the base.
Lifts: 5 draglifts, 1 chairlift, and 1 gondola/cable car available for use at the ski area with the purchase of a single Rapido Sky ticket.
Pros: Good warm mulled wine (vin chaud in French) at the summit restaurant at Vounetz. Very friendly staff on the mountain and at the restaurant. Fewer tourists/visitors than the bigger Swiss resort areas. The lift runs in the summer and is a good starting place for hiking. Free bathrooms & parking. Beautiful views from the summit. #8 is a solid piste for beginners. Close to Fribourg.
Cons: No tubing, sledging/sledding, or luge. No gear rentals on site. Only 15 pistes and limited options (3 runs) for beginners. They don't offer a 1/2 price discount on the lift ticket if you have a Swiss travel card or GA card as some ski areas here do.
