Ponte de Dom Luis I

Built in 1886, this bridge links Porto and Gaia.

Reviewed By Gary S - Milton Keynes, United Kingdom

Well we picked the wettest Easter on record to visit Porto.
We did the lower part of the bridge on the pouring rain and the return from the Dark Side by the upper bridge in what can only be described as crazy windswept outward bound type adventure. People were blown sideways. Umbrellas broken beyond repair.
What a day.
It's just a bridge...looks the bees knees. It was built back in 1792...so with those winds it has stood the test of time.
We were shot blasted but survived.

Praia de Miramar

Reviewed By MarcoJust_Do_It - Amarante, Portugal

Weren't sure what to expect but everybody was really friendly and helpful. Manuel and Steve really know their stuff and made a couple of Port wine novices far more knowledgeable after our visit. Our Delivery arrived in central France just 3 days later. Highly reccomended.

On Mondays everything turns chaotic with this market. You can find everything going you are looking for here from fish to fashionable clothes. We have just completed a large group tour of northern Portugal. Activities were organised by Splendid Evasions and the service was exemplary. From a sardine factory tour to the Medieval dinner outside Aveiro, we were treated very well over a week. Special thanks to the enthusiasm of Anna and the passion and knowledge of Francesco.
We also took a private trip as a couple before the group. We were attracted to the National Park option outside Arcos de Valdevez. Unfortunately a whole lotta' rain put paid to the plans. Replanting on the run was (almost) seemless and we enjoyed 3 days of walks and a 4 wheel drive tour. Thanks to Pedro and the team

Quinta dos Corvos

Reviewed By marcin839

For a person who never stomped grapes to turn them into wine, this was great tour into the wine making. Our hostess, Maria Tomé explained in great, understandable details how you get port out of grapes. After the port making lesson, she introduced us to her favourite ports. Although we were biased towards white port, she let us try an ambrosia of a red port - we left with 4 bolts of port; including the red one :)
Highly recommended way of spending few Euros on worthy cause. We will never look at port the same way. Thank you Maria!
