Take in the stunning surroundings of Queen Elizabeth Forest Park as you fly 46 metres above the ground on two of Britain's longest zip wires. Located in the Trossachs National Park, it's a mecca for Go Ape pilgrims, thrill seekers, adventure lovers and those that just want to get out and have some fun in Loch Lomond. At the turn of the year our award winning adventure at Queen Elizabeth Forest had a tree-lift. Not only have we put in all new obstacles and crossings, we’ve rethought the entire layout of the course, meaning you get to see parts of the forest you wouldn’t have seen last time. With the new design comes a unique aspect for those adventurous monkeys out there – a dual course. That means you now have a choice of which route you take – moderate or extreme. Along these routes you’ll encounter brand new back-to-back black crossings - don’t worry these are optional. Sound challenging enough for you?
I went here with my girlfriend as we were staying not far from Aberfoyle, we rang in the morning to see if there was space and arrived in the afternoon in the pouring rain to be greeted by Very helpful staff , we got giving are equipment and safety checks carried out and shown how to use cables, ropes etc safety by the instructor Liam , he made the safety briefing fun but made the point of using everything correctly and that everyone in the group where able to continue on the course without putting anyone else at risk! The course starts with a zip wire over the valley , before starting on rope ladders, ladders and walkways up in the trees, continuing through the the course there are Tarzan swings and further zip lines before Ending with the second largest U.K zip line back across to finish ( 2nd largest in U.k) , which has a great view depending if you spin out of control like I did and missed it but still a great view through valley ! We went when it was raining ( heavy rain ) do take a spare change of clothes as wood clippings do get Everywhere ! A Fantastic afternoon out and will return ! We finished with food in visitor centre and a walk through! We did have to pay for parking which was about £3

There's not much going on in Aberfoyle - it has the feeling of a struggling little town, but the visitor centre is a perfect spot to park and stretch your legs, use the nearby toilets and learn a bit about the surrounding area.
The visitor centre has a modern feel about it, and is stocked with many touristy items. We're not big shoppers but ended up buying a stuffed sheep, German language kids book, postcard and a cloth shopping bag. As we were leaving a wiskey tasting was getting set up.
I recall the staff member who helped me was super friendly and enthusiastic. Very happy we made this little stop.

We were based in Callander and drove the circuit through Aberfoyle to Balmaha beside loch Lomond. The visitor centre there has a treasure of information including wildlife and fish. There are picnic areas beside the lake with extensive views and very well maintained houses nearby. Worth the visit.

We stayed within walking distance of this wonderful lodge. It features a cafe and a good base from which to start several good hikes into the Trossachs. Staffers are friendly and knowledgeable, always helpful. We happened to be there one day when Forest Rangers from the entire area were gathering to review good safety practices. Even watching them was interesting. Good coffee, soup, sandwiches. Plenty of free parking from which you can begin your hike.

The Olde Christmas Shoppe's are a small family run business located in three popular locations in Scotland. Our Stirling Shop is housed within the historic Steeple building in the old part of City positioned on the road down hill from Stirling Castle. This shop has a feature curved glass window which adds charm to this lovely old shop with a 5 ft Santa greeting people as they come in. Our Aberfoyle Shop is located in heart of the Village right on the Main Street. This shop is housed within an old cottage/byre type building which is believed to be one of the oldest buildings in the village. As you enter our door you will sense our pride in our Scottish roots with the tartan flooring, the Scottish Christmas music playing gently and you will find yourself instantly transported into a Scottish Christmas Wonderland. People are surprised at just how much products we have squeezed into this small shop - the choice truly is overwhelming. Our Helensburgh Shop is perfectly positioned on the seafront overlooking the River Cylde. This shop has the old fashioned bars on the window adding to it charm with a rustic wooden floor giving the shop that traditional feel and charm. We also have our very own shop mascot here in the Helensburgh Shop who is Bobby the Scottie Dog who loves nothing more than to be up on the counter to meet new visitors.
I have a friend who loves Christmas, I got her some lovely gifts in here. Lady owner very helpful. I am sure my friend will love her bagpipe playing Santa for her tree!

Visited here with a group of 25 kids and 4 adults.
The inflatables themselves were reasonable and in good condition. The large seesaw did come loose from its mooring twice though.
Be prepared for the cold water, it's refreshing to say the least.
My main gripe were the staff, 2 male staff were nothing short of miserable.
They were rude, short tempered and almost seemed put out by having people there. They did nothing but stand on the bank with whistles constantly telling the kids what they "couldn't" do.
Had they spent half that time on the water giving the kids advice on how best to use the apparatus the session would have been so much better.
This could be a great day out if the staff put a smile on their faces.

You can park nearby to the wood not far from Aberfoyle and it is an enjoyable stroll up this mystery mound which rewards with little details such as carved tree houses and unicorns in the roots as well as some lovely views over the surrounding hills and forest

Well this is the first time a game of golf has taken 6hrs 35 mins - and that was due to us not other players! In fact we only saw a few other golfers and used the honesty box to pay as requested. A very tricky and interesting course - you have to be very accurate which we aren't always. I don't think they want to encourage women to play here as they make it so difficult for us - often the tees are very close to the men's and there is no way we would have found one tee if someone had not walked back to warn us where to look. My guess is there are few lady members. Would I play again when I'm back in Scotland - you bet! Beautiful scenery, breathtaking.

Aberfoyle Bike Park provides 700 metres of interlinked trails with a range of fun challenges and trail features. Suitable for everyone wanting to have fun on a mountain bike or improve their skills. Handy for all the natural trails nearby plus parking, toilets, refreshments in the lovely village of Aberfoyle in the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Ideal for biking families.
Just off N7 cycle way, on east edge of Aberfoyle village, the park is a mix of different mtb runs, with berms, rocks, drop offs and loops. Great place to warm up before heading into hills, or practice and tweak those essential mtb techniques.
