Really glad we found this pub while we were walking in Aberfoyle.
I had the best Mac & cheese I've ever eaten and my partner had the haggis burger and loved it.
The food was a fair price for the portion size. The pub had really lovely staff and lots of history on the walls! Really lovely place. Would return!

Our table was in a bay window with a wonderful view of the Lake. The food was delicious! Would be a wonderful place to have lunch outdoors.

Venachar Lochside has a beautiful location on the banks of Loch Venachar, 10 minutes from Callander. Our menus offer fresh, seasonal and local produce. We have facilities for idyllic lochside weddings and functions in addition to great trout and pike fishing from both boat and bank.
Having passed previously we wanted to stop and see if the food was as good as the place looked .
We only had time for coffee and shortbread (vanilla shortbread )but both were great and the view was stunning.
This place has a really lovely feel to it and the staff were friendly and welcoming.
We will be back for lunch in the near future as anywhere that is full on a snowy sun in Scotland has to be special

We were staying very close to The Byre Inn and it seemed handy for a Sunday meal. We really enjoyed the burger (probably one of the best!) and haggis, neeps and tatties. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was lacking a bit. We might return again during a...MoreThanks for your review ?

Great food and whisky bar in the heart of the Trossachs.
Good places don't need loads of words. You just got to try it!

Serving dinner from 17:30 every day, closed on Wednesday.
Open for lunch on Sundays.
Private lunch bookings are available, functions and small weddings too.

Lovey lawn at the front of the building. Great to watch the world go by, with a glass of wine and nice dinner.
Excellent food that justifies the price-point. Some of the beast scallops ever tasted. Beautiful lamb. Delightful chocolate dessert.

This family run business opens for lunch and dinner with a lovely garden, serving light lunch, dinners freshly made cakes teas coffees and a fully licensed bar.Freshly cooked food in season and sourced local from Scotlands amazing larder.
Having had a delightful dinner for two recently, we decided to return for a Christmas dinner catch up with friends. We like the cosy Scottish French bistro style of the dining rooms where you can enjoy great cooking without the fuss of table cloths. The rooms are small enough for the experience to feel intimate. The chef owner couple previously worked at Gleneagles Hotel, so the menu offers creative flavours and flair without being over the top and at a price point that many restaurants charge for average fish and chips or steak pie. The Turkey was succulent including the brown meat and I loved the home made bread sauce, cranberry and trimmings. I enjoyed the salmon terrine with lemon curd too. A lovely combination. The puddings were too pretty to eat but too tasty to leave. We will definitely be back for more of this creative rustic tasty cooking. The young front of house service team are the icing on the cake.

Family owned pub/restaurant offering local fresh produce in the beautiful surroundings of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Disabled accessible and family/dog friendly.
Being fairly local, we went here for a nice Mother’s Day lunch after previous visits a few years ago and it’s fair to say it will be our last visit. With only four or five tables running we waited 45 minutes for our food. My vegetables were grossly undercooked, and the “special” fish pie was simply piped mashed potato (which wasn’t put under a grill) sitting on a watery soup with undercooked fish in it. My wife’s fish and chips was classic Scottish over-battered, over fried fish. Our very friendly waitress seemed unsurprised about our comments and suggested I speak to the “supervisor” which I did. On mentioning my disappointment with the fish pie, his response was “I don’t really know anything about fish pie....” while happily processing my credit card for the bill.
No sign of either a manager or an owner on a favourite family Sunday lunch occasion -said it all I’m afraid. Wouldn’t recommend this at all.

We stayed at Forrest Hills hotel and shocked at the breakfast prices.
Found the Wee Blether tea room a short walk from the hotel.
We had coffee & cake which was lovely.
Next 2 mornings we had bacon rolls and pot of tea which was a great start to the day. Friendly staff in quirky surroundings love the wallpaper in the toilet !
Nice wee find.

An essential stop when passing through Aberfoyle. Use the central car park, a few minutes walk away. Very friendly staff despite, at times, having to work under great pressure. It can be very busy, sharing a table may be necessary but the excellent hot food and cakes from a menu to satisfy all comes quickly. Be prepared to clear a table and at busy times wait or return later: turnover is reasonably quick.

You have to book to secure a table at this popular bistro on the site of Tigh Mor. The staff are really welcoming and attentive and the food is great. There is plenty of choice on the set menu, with specials as well. It was really hard to choose but no one in our party of three was disappointed with their choices. The sea trout I had was huge and cooked to perfection - absolutely delicious.
A meal here is highly recommended.
