We arrived with a 5 month old baby in a large pushchair and a 2 year old yellow Labrador and rather than the restaurant finding this a challenge they welcomed us with open arms and made us feel very welcome and comfy. They ascertained that our French language skills were a little poor so took the time to speak slowly to us and helped us through our menu choices, also indulging in some local banter ( rugby based!) which was great fun! The food was amazingly tasty and offered a great range of local cuisine plus some standard menu options such as cheeseburgers. I had the Croque Monsieur and my husband had the Brochettes both of which tasted wonderful. The staff were truly outstanding and we really enjoyed our time in this restaurant.

We were thrilled to discover this delightful family run hotel. Food MAGNIFICENT (esp Fruits de Mer), going out of their way to look after our needs (even hosing down our sandy tandem bicycle!). We only happened to choose it from a list because it was the cheapest. Rooms simple and unsophisticated, but provided us with everything we needed. A1.

We have been going to this restaurant for the past 4 years. In this period the staff have been great, the atmosphere excellent, the treatment of children unquestionable. The two buts... it is not vegetarian friendly, the veggie burger is a bun with vegetables in it, mostly courgette and the french fries are soggy. The meat burgers are excellent, the mussels the same. The tuna I had was perfectly done, as for the cocktails, it is half the reason we go there. But with two vegetarians in our family we were very disappointed this year.

This is definitely the best restaurant in town with great atmosphere. The menu had good variation in food but still had refined recipes. Great ingredients, always fresh and have never been disappointed, especially since my family and I have been coming for years and it has become a tradition. I would recommend it to everyone, whatever evening they have planned, the staff are super friendly and very approachable to any questions you have about the menu. Excellent all round!!!

ENJOY DINER Soustons BEACH is at a few yard of a beautiful lake and near the atlantic Ocean. It's a small and cute american restaurant from the years 50/60. We serve cuisine made home with delicious BBQ Ribs style Texas, t'bones steaks, hamburgers, desserts as cheesecakes, mud pie, apple pie crisp, etc....Breakfasts with pancakes, french toats, omelettes and other american food. We have an long bar where you can sit and also booths Chevy.
After a long and very hot day at the beach, based on a previous trip advisor recommendation we hung around until the restaurant opened, officially 18:30 but the staff seemed surprised that anyone ate that early....2 small children in tow, demanding food!
Burgers were excellent, can't fault, and the staff were incredibly engaging with all of us.

Absolutely incredible. Donny, our waiter, was so so helpful and kind. As was the blonde chap who helped us at the beginning (we didn't catch his name).
Seafood was impeccable and so was the duck. Amazing value and evening. Our last night in Vieux Boucau and can't believe we only found it then.
Thank you (especially to Donny) x

The main thing going for this restaurant is its position, right on the traffic-free Promenade with a gorgeous view of the lake and the island.
Fabulous!
For the rest, the food is average-ish, not bad for mass catering - when we were there in early July I counted 120+ people sitting eating. Almost a school dining hall, but with the view of course.
But not school dinner prices. They have to make their profit in the summer season, and it shows in the prices. Not good value even by seaside standards.
Service is a bit iffy - they are overworked. One of us ordered a seabream, it was delivered with a flourish "Your seabream, Sir". In French, obviously. "Voici votre bar, Monsieur".
Only trouble is, it wasn't. It was a sea bass.
"C'est une daurade, ce n'est pas un bar". "Oh, so it is. Never mind, you can have that instead". "No, I want a bass." "OK". He took it away, then came back two minutes later "Are you sure you won't have this lovely sea bream?".
:-)
He didn't even try to pretend that we had made a mistake and actually ordered bream . . .
But then, there were another 120 customers all clamouring for service.

I approached this pizzeria a bit uncertain, since the sign boasted a "pizza rolled out by hand" a little creepy to me. Instead, taking apart on pizzas by the French ingredients, I had a Sicilian pizza that surprised me for the excellent quality, very similar to an Italian pizza. With the decoration of one Pantelleria caper, something that most people in France do not know what it is... (by the way: it is a special variety of caper that grows in the Pantelleria island, close to Sicily).
So, if you love Italian pizzas, I definitely recommend this restaurant.
