Mini Golf de Vieux Boucau

Reviewed By LisaAsh70 - Crawley, United Kingdom

The golf holes are well maintained and attractively presented with an around the world theme. The refreshments are basic but at least you can buy a drink. The holes are designed to have resting spots around and quite a bit of shade for hot days.
My younger daughter had a nasty fall and unfortunately the proprietor didn't have any first aid equipment. The loos are ok, clean but a bit smelly. We do go here at least once a year...

Great high ropes, mostly in shade. Visited with teens 16 and 13. We did the facile and tres facile routes, nothing easy about any of them we loved route 2 lots of zip lines. In 4 hours we only scratched the surface. There are lower routes for younger kids.
Cafe also excellent to re-fuel after the adrenaline rush.

Went to ask questions on the local area as we are on an extended holiday in Seignosse Ocean. Staff friendly and helpful and willing to try and understand our bad French before resorting to their good English. Although they could not answer all our questions they managed to deal with most of them and were willing to do internet searches to supplement their standard written material . Try them .

I'd love to tell you why I chose this surf school, but there's no real certainty to it. I think there was a 'feel' to the website that appealed to me. They replied to my emails very quickly, but it was more than that. Something that was perhaps, less corporate and more relaxed fun.
Sure enough, when we arrived for our first lesson, we were greeted by a very happy instructor, who you just know, thinks he has the best office in the world. We were kitted out very quickly and trekked off to the beach. If I have a tip, try to find out when high tide is before you book your lessons, as it felt like a very long way across the hot sand.
A short introduction to each other and the water conditions, we were off for a warm-up exercise. It turned out, that I'm an expert at being stiff as a board and laying face down in the surf, but that's about as far as my Surfing went, when an old sports injury decided to reappear. Needless to say the children were standing up on the boards within about 30 minutes, as I was still rolling off them for another 60 minutes. I always felt safe and was never concerned that my children and wife were not being looked after.
Back on dry land, I was able to transfer my lessons to my boys and enjoyed watching them improve over the next few days. My wife improved too, but I think she had a little crush on the instructor and wanted to show off!
Even after our lessons finished and we hired boards, the instructors were happy to offer pointers to the boys on how to keep improving and even though the wind died and the surf dropped, they all kept getting better.
Professionalism and fun went hand in hand. Are they better than any other school? I don't know, but if I'm in the area again, they would be the first place I'd go to to get lessons. Everyone we came across, whether instructors or shop staff, were polite, relaxed and gave off a feeling that they all loved their jobs.
Thanks guys, you really do have the best office in the world.

Bip, bip, bip,..." Un service à la francaise quoi !
