We visited Koppargrillen during lunch time and they had both buffet and a'la carte but neither have options I wanted. I wanted to have steamed fish with vegetables without any butter, margarine, milk products, sauce, flour or too much salt. Waitress took my order without hesitation saying okay. I waited to see some boring plate with tiny piece of fish with heated up carrot-bean-corn mix. But what they brought to me was nice looking huge dish with steamed salmon and plenty of vegetables both fresh and steamed, even asparagus. And absolutely everything was delicious and even if it was a huge portion, I tried to eat up everything. So, if we ever eat in Vänersborg again, this definitely is my favourite place.

We had reserved a table to celebrate the birthday of my father's friend, in total we were 7 persons.
The table itself was as far in as you can get in the restaurant. Since it was in the evening it was rather dark outside and started to get darker inside too. I think that the atmosphere was a bit too dark. We were making jokes about not seeing the menu properly. The furnishing is a bit boring. Even if they have recently renovated there is still a lack of modern touch of the interior.
We got menues straight away and our order were taken rather quickly. After this we didn't get much attention. The waiter came with our drinks and left them in a hurry. When I got my cider I saw that it was alcohol in it, in the menu the cider was labelled as free from alcohol. My mother ordered sparkling water, but couldn't drink it since it tasted so awful. We tried to get the staff's attention, and finally did, but it took some time. My mother sent her water back and instead I ordered plain tapwater, since we had decided to change drinks. She took my cider. When the fast waiter turned around to walk away my husband said that my drink had come with alcohol in it even if it said that it was without it in the menu. The waiter didn't excuse himself but just said that they had two types of it. I said that maybe they should type it down in the menu. He didnt answer that at all, but just left. How am I as a guest supposed to know all the drinks that the restaurant have in their stock?
Eventually the food arrived. My mood was a bit blue due to the rude service that we had got so far, so I didn't expect anything extraordinarily. But I must say that food was totally fine, none of us had any complaints whatsoever.
Paying went quickly, since you could do it by the bar. There was no problem dividing the bill either.
I would really like to grade this restaurant more than just "average"; but since service was so lousy I can't do it. I really hope that they try to improve their social skills in handling guests and make their customers feel more welcome.

We ate here both nights we stayed in Vanersberg. We enjoyed our food (quiches and shrimp salads) and the staff was very friendly. It was also quite nice to eat right by the lake.

Don't forget to visit this place once you stop by around Vanersborg. A great place to walk and enjoy nature. You can feel the breeze coming from värnern lake.The cafe is just simple yet it is clean and makes you feel like home. Make sure to check their schedule when they are open. I'll recommend this place, calm and peaceful to have conversation and fika.
Love their hot chocolate, Sandwiches and the waffles :) and affordable too!. Best to order and sit outside to see the view of the town Vanersborg!

The personal is very friendly and helpful. The food is great and a many things to choose from the meny. No waiting and a good price for the food. The restaurang is by the water and gives harmony to the meal.

This place is currently one of only two Thai places in Vänersborg, but don't go here if you feel the need for Pad Thai, Pad Kra Prao or Tom Yum Gong. It's lacking flavour as well as spice. It was ok 5 years ago, but now it's pretty poor.

Pretty good choice of menu and drinks. Good service and helpful staff. Fairly priced by Swedish standards. Would recommend.

We came accross this restaurant by chance and were positively surprised. The meals were delicious and the owners from Nepal, who opened up only recently, very friendly.

Mysigt litet café med unik belägenhet i direkt anslutning till både de nuvarande slussarna samt de gamla slussområdet. Räkmackorna är fantastiska men här finns också annat gott. Stor uteservering där det oftast går att hitta plats om man inte är för många.
