Stayed one night and had a Murder Mystery dinner. preceeded by a Cream Tea. Quality of both was beyond reproach. The sandwiches were crustless, the scons absolutely authentic (no raisins or such rubbish), all served with strong tea. The menu choice for sinner included a superb Terrine, and one of th best tasting Pork Belly dishes I have ever had. Fantastic value. Would I recomend the Hartnoll? Absolutely.

We recently visited and had a fantastic meal. The pub itself has a wonderful atmosphere with large open fires and cosy Seating areas. The menu was varied and extremely well priced. The food itself was delicious and extremely well cooked. The staff were friendly and efficient. I would defiantly recommend.

Just stopped by for a few drinks, had a lovely organic cider that was made locally, and some apple juice again locally made. Will definitely go back for food next time, the salads looked really good, unfortunately not dog friendly but had a nice couple of tables out front

Enjoy your visit in our beautiful riverside surroundings, where you can shop, dine and relax. Set in the Old Mill House, our restaurant has such a warm and traditional atmosphere that it makes you feel at home as soon as you walk through the door. Log fires during the winter months and views of the waterside Gardens and mill wheel add something special to any occasion. Whether it’s an intimate dinner for two, a celebratory party for friends and family or a simple snack lunch, our menu will fit the bill. Open seven days a week, serving lunch everyday and evening meals Fri and Sat. Dog friendly section of the restaurant available - booking advisable for this area during busy times.
Easy to find and park, if travelling from Tiverton immediately over the river bridge in Bickleigh keep left. We found the staff really helpful and recommend choosing from the specials board with good value honest food. We had roast pork with all the trimmings including lots of fresh veg cooked to perfection. Some lovely walks by the river and the mill shop has lots of unusual things to buy. We particularly liked the hedgehog draught excluder and the good quality children's toys.

This is a local village pub/restaurant serving very good food and drink at both lunch times and in the evening, including Sunday roasts with Exmoor beef.Good bar meals and a full restaurant menu, which includes both a standard menu, examples of which are homemade lasagne, chicken korma, beer battered cod chips and pea puree and Exmoor rump steak and changing local homemade specials such as homemade beef and ale pie, local veal, venison steak in port and redcurrant sauce, pan-fried duck breast in cider and honey, hake fillet with sweet chilli roast vegetables and woodland mushroom risotto. We had a very good Sunday roast and Saturday lunch baguettes with good wine and Exmoor beer. The Mitre Inn has been recommended on part of a holiday cottages trip advisor review already listed.
We were looking for a venue half way between us in Cornwall and relatives from Bristol area to meet up and chose the Mitre Inn by chance. We were not disappointed. We had lunch which was tasty, plentiful and good value. Our dog was made welcome and given a treat - thank you. Will call again if in the area.

popped in for a snack and was pleasantly surprised. Lovely friendly Devonshire welcome smile, courteous service and most of all a pint and pasty. well done. you wouldn't expect chips and sarnie's and you wont get them . you will experience a pasty with a smile, or a cup of real tea.
recommend the lamb one but locally made and delicious. If you need to walk off the calories there are over 10 miles to experience, or take the horse drawn barge as an easy option. interesting.

We are a family run business offering a great atmosphere and home-cooked locally sourced food. Old school american style food, everything cooked from scratch by our experienced chefs - Ranging from Beastie Burgers to succulent steaks and also some classic american dishes such as gumbo and jumbalaya. The Barge Inn will be having a face lift as we have big plans for a refurbishment of the function suit to provide a fresh new restaurant for the local community to enjoy. Open from 12 midday on weekends and from 5pm weekdays - always happy to serve food!
Wow when we walked the young female barmaid was so friendly and helpful. We explained that it was our first visit she got us our drinks and escorted us through to the restaurant. You have no idea what is going to greet you it is a very large room completely decorated with Americana. We were seated and shown the extensive menu as well as a large blackboard with the specials on and another one with the desserts on. We ordered our food which was really difficult to decide as the choice was very comprehensive. I had Jalapeno Poppers to start they were Homemade served with a fresh salad garnish and delicious. My husband had a Platter with Ribs and Wings the Ribs just fell off the bone. My husband is American, Great at barbecuing and has his own smoker so the bar was set very high. He was very pleased with the offering. I had New Orleans Mac and Cheese, well it was delicious very tasty cheese sauce and the New Orleans piece for those who do not know is Prawns I had the starter size dish again with a Salad Garnish it probably had 7/8 large Prawns in the dish it was to die for and plenty as it is very rich. What I particularly liked was the fact there were plenty of Vegetarian options. There is a lovely outside area which would be fantastic in the summer months. The young lad that waited on was very pleasant and good at his job. If you like american barbecue this is one to try and if not there were many other dishes to try and everything is Homemade how refreshing is that! I would said it is pretty much mid priced we had 2 starters, 2 Mains 2 Large Soft Drinks and it came to £44.

We found the Cadeleigh Arms here on Trip Advisor looking for somewhere we could have a proper Sunday Lunch in a proper country pub setting. The Cadeleigh didn't dispapoint on any score. The setting is very pretty, the pub beautifully and thoughftully presented, the staff all charming and very well-informed and the food was fantastic! It was a pleasure to discuss ingredients and sources for the various dishes and to know that everything was homemade. A definite place to re-visit when we're next in Devon.

Situated in the vibrant Lower Gold Street this is a cafe, bar, bistro with a french flavour. It is a great place to meet up with friends for a morning coffee, indulge in a lazy lunch, relax with a leisurely glass of Kir, meet friends for after work cocktails and light bites or to just have a special evening out. The all day menu is enhanced by the daily baking of bread, cakes and scones and varied daily chefs specials. The wine list is ever changing and the bar is renowned for its amazing number of gins from around the world, which are always served the way they should be!
Two of us booked late and ate early on Saturday evening. The service was naturally friendly and efficient, the food was superb (best medium rare steak I've eaten in many years, and a positively sinful passionfruit and white chocolate crème brulée) and good value, and the atmosphere and ambience were very good. The wine list is very limited, but the house merlot was fine. There is a long list of cocktails on the board, but we didn't indulge this time.
