Szentgotthárd is the westernmost town of Hungary. It is situated on the Rába River near the Austrian border, and is home to much of Hungary's small Slovene ethnic minority.

The owners have an interesting menu in a region of very traditional fare. They use the local specialty 'Uhudler' (a type of rose wine) and pumpkin. Well worth a visit.

We love the Loipersdorf Therme for 12 Years. We are comming every year for one week. This year we had the dinner every evening in Heuriger Krops. The food is exelent and the staff, especial Bela and the owners Josef with Sigi are very nice and friendly. We love this place and will come next year again.

Today we visited the Rodeo, me, my wife and our 9months old kid. After we arrived noone welcomed us, we stayes next to tables for 2 minutes and then choose a table. A waiter arrived 10 minutes later and asked us what we chose for drink.
For lunch I chose a plate bean with corn, sausages, pork meat and spices with pizza bread. My wife ordered a medallion of pork in Hungarian style, with bacon. It was quite expensive, 2 times more expensive than my beans.
After 20 minutes we got our meal. My wife's plate containted 10-12pcs of potatoes cube, 3-4 pcs of pork medallions what has no taste and many tomato cooked. I got a frying plan full of bean, onion and very cheap sausages, and they standed in a vegetable oil. I did not feel the taste of bean just the cheap sausage and the too much oil. The pizza bread was freash and good.
Before the main curese we asked 2 portion soups. Trust me, I ate at the cheapest places in Budapest and ate very weak soups, but this soup was the weakeast all of them.We ordered a soup with liver dumplings and we got a yellow hot vater without any vegetables, paste or meat, just with only 4 pieces of small liver dumplings. This soup was around $3 and was too salty as well.
Bonuses: they had only 4 kind of wines, a dry red, a semi sweet red, a semi sweer white and a rose. My wife ordered a dry red wine but they had only rose. So she drank this dessert wine next to her weak main course. We asked a special seat to my kid and they did not have, we had to feed him in the baby carriage. The final invoice was about 5000 huf, around $22. For this money I got better food in Budapest for 2 persons with bear.
I will never visit them again for sure! (Ah, and they don't have website!)

Alles in allem - einfach echt klasse.

We visited the village with family for a week. We went there the frist evening and then kept going back regularly. The menu is mostly about the regional specialties (you can even buy a cookbok about them), like dödölle (potato-flour dumplings or similar), and pumpkin-poppy seed strudel. Cottage cheese dumpling is also excellent and works well for a main course if you tend to eat a bit less than the average.
There's a small playground under the Terrace so you can see the kids playing and there's a retired fire engine to climb onto.
I want to go back!!!

Not far from the border we found this lovely restaurant. It was packed with locals which is always a good sign. Nice atmosphere, friendly service and good food we have been really satisfied with this place. Our schnitzel was tasty, big and cheap. Highly recommended.
