This restaurant has been operating for almost ten years and has been under three different owners during this time. With each change of management, the menu has been refined and expanded to introduce new dishes, but the prices have jumped substantially along the way.
The setting is lovely- really rustic with wide wooden beams, high ceiling and an open kitchen. The little knitted toys that have been introduced recently risk the place looking twee and seem out of character with the original decor. There is a large outdoor Terrace which is open in summer and is fabulous.
If you like the local cheesy dishes, they do a cracking fondue. The pavé of salmon was nice but undercooked, and was served with nothing else. No side dishes, no vegetables- just the salmon. This was unexpected and poor. When I asked for some vegetables, it apparently wasn't possible. The only option they offered was a side salad.
The desserts are delicious and the chocolat fondant is particularly good.
There is a three course menu which is well priced, but most other dishes ordered from the a la carte menu are pricey. They quality of food is generally good and the service efficient, if not warm.

Nice place if you like a Asian fusion twist! Ordered tempura prawns to start but got tiny pieces of prawns in sushi style! More rice than any prawn. Went for veggie main...again ok nothing special! Would not eat here again think there are better places in Samoens to eat :) prices didn’t match up to value of quality of food served...in my personal opinion

Fantastic food and service, staff were so helpful and spoke great english. Immaculately clean even although it was very busy. Definitely book in advance as its difficult to get a table at short notice. Pizza was excellent and the sweets were awesome. Highly recommended.

Cuisine Familiale et Savoyarde
With two children and only one Fondue fan we struggled to find menu choices we were happy with but ended up with steak and chips (no garnish or veg/salad) which was very tasty. Fondue seems the dish of choice in the restaurant and went down well. Staff were patient and attentive with us. Nice to be in a authentic French restaurant full of locals .

Crepe speciality
This creperie has a lovely atmosphere: traditional wooden tables and stools. They serve a huge range of savoury and sweet crepes. They were delicious. Good cider to go with them. It is an ideal place for supper and makes a great change from the other restaurants in Samoens.

Chalet Offering Great Meals On The Skislopes, Worth A Review!
Firstly the staff are very friendly . The food are excellent and good selection too . We have been to this restaurant few times .However is advisable to book before hand because it is very busy . We tend to go there around 12 noon which then have a better chance of getting a table without booking .Highly recommended .

Stopped here for lunch, and each ordered a different salad. We expected the usual rustic pile of meat and cheese, but were pleasantly surprised to find an altogether more refined version of savoyard fare. The Assiette de Giffre was particularly good, with a healthy portion of smoked trout, fresh mushrooms with subtle dressing, and baked potatoes with chive cream. Way above average for alpine fare. Service was very friendly and efficient. Must return!

Excellent service, beautifully cooked food. My fish was perfect, my husband’s onglet de boeuf also cooked to perfection. Small restaurant but you feel they care that their customers enjoy the food and understand what they are eating.
