Really glad we found this pub while we were walking in Aberfoyle.
I had the best Mac & cheese I've ever eaten and my partner had the haggis burger and loved it.
The food was a fair price for the portion size. The pub had really lovely staff and lots of history on the walls! Really lovely place. Would return!

Beautiful view over Loch Lomond from tables near the windows. Overall experience was disappointing; the website indicates a restaurant providing higher quality dining than experienced. Menu is basic and uninspiring. Service was poor, long wait and served by a young lady with an unhelpful attitude. Dish chosen was lacking two key ingredients, however a replacement was served. This had been planned as a late lunch for my mother's 80th birthday and email communication prior to arrival promised much and delivered little. We would not return.

Edinburghs esteemed chef, Martin Wishart, has added a touch of Michelin-starred luxury to the already impressive Cameron House a stylish hotel on the shores of Loch Lomond. Head Chef Stewart Boyles worked with Martin in the kitchen at Restaurant Martin Wishart, so its no surprise that the food here is similarly flawless. The menu features elegant French dishes like roast John Dory forestire with truffle jus; Jerusalem artichoke velout with langoustines; and a lighter-than-air passion fruit souffl. The restaurant itself is light and airy with striped chairs, comfortable banquettes and shades of taupe and plum creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The attentive service, unpretentious atmosphere and thoughtfully chosen wine list complete this unforgettable dining experience.
FABULOUS in every way!!!
Sun 26 Nov, 12:30, x2 - Sunday Lunch
I am a regular at Cameron House, using the Boathouse as my 'local' from the Marina, and Great Scots Bar / Cameron Grill for "nights out", byt only my 2nd visit to MW. My first was 3 years ago for the "taster" menu, but this time just for lunch.
Fabulous value at £32 per head for 3 courses, cos by the time you have all the canapés etc, it's far more than 3!
We both opted for the £25.50 option to have matching wines too.
Also, as there are 2 options per course, we chose to go 50:50 on every dish, so just had ONE of every of dishes on the "Du Jour" menu.
The main course lamw was "to die for", but all of the other dishes were fab too, ditto the canapés.
Faultless service, great Sommelier, awesome food - we're back there in 2 weeks for a repeat!!!
FINE DINING at its very best - you'd be doing amazingly well to find a better place to eat ANYWHERE!!!!!

Great food in a great location - that is what The Village Rest is all about. Always comfortable and friendly, you can be assured of a great time whether you're just in for a cup of coffee and a cake, or a large meal. Our varied and well balanced menu changes regularly and is in season and the food always fresh. We aspire to serve delicious homemade dishes with locally sourced produce. Our atmosphere is relaxed with an eclectic interior. The Village Rest is casual enough for lunch or tea, and yet formal enough for special occasions. In the perfect village of Luss, The Village Rest is ideally placed for enjoying Loch Lomond and the scenery of the national park. Arguably Scotland's most beautiful loch, Loch Lomond is also one of the largest. There is huge variety too, between the gentle sweeping farmland of the southern edge to the rugged highland shores of the north. Luss is positioned on the edge of the Highlands and has great views across to the Islands and Mountains of Loch Lomond.Luss is connected to central Scotland by the A82, a good quality fast road, with driving times of less than an hour from central Glasgow.
Friendly warm welcoming staff and manager with a tasty menu selection . Highly recommend a food stop here with there great portions size . Looking forward to our next visit .

Contemporary, quirky Scottish coffee shop set in the picturesque village of Luss, on the banks of Loch Lomond. Serving a wide range of coffees, teas, home baking and food from 10am to 5pm, 364 days per year. Lunch is served all day as we know many of our customers are travelling. A selection of our fabulous home made 'main meal soups' are always on offer with a hunk of locally baked bread. For something more substantial try our Quiche and coleslaw prepared from scratch on the premises, Salmon and Prawns, Haggis and Clapshot or Ciabatta breads prepared like pizzas. Our gift shop is filled with quirky Scottish sourced items !!
Friendly, fabulous food, proper coffee in lovely large pottery cups..generous portions of home cooked food and live fire. We entered cold and hungry and left warmed by the spirit of this place and its cooking.

A cosy traditional scottish inn which is full of history and has a wide selection of home cooked food. The home made chips are particularly tasty . Serving a fine selection of wines and cask ale that change all the time. Friendly staff will greet you on arrival and dogs are welcome in the bar area.
Visited for first time after a lovely walk in the area. Staff very friendly and welcoming. We both had the home made Ham and Lentil broth which was just what the doctor ordered! Followed by a coronation chicken Sandwich very tasty.
All in all very good value.

While spending a few days in Arrochar popped in here for a drink at lunchtime. It doesn't get much better, when on a cold winter's day you enter a real, cosy bar, with a roaring log fire, and a great selection of wines, spirits, and real ales. The staff were friendly and welcoming. It is an old world type of bar with real character. We only had a few drinks the first visit. We liked it so much we went back the next day. The menu looked very appetising, if a little expensive, and we really only wanted a lunchtime snack. The pleasant young lady serving us said there were problems with the kitchen that day but they could make up something simple for us, so she served up two plates of delicious sandwiches. Although we did not stay overnight in this place , it seemed extremely organised and well run by friendly and pleasant staff. We would certainly recommend this place, and if you are in Arrochar give it a try, even if it's only for a quick drink.

Went here for lunch yesterday and was slightly disappointed.
There is not much atmosphere apart from the welcoming roaring log burner. The soup was a small bowl with an equally small bread roll with it. My wife who is an ardent soup fan, felt it was not as wholesome as she would have expected from a place frequented by hungry walkers. At £4:50 a bowl it's over priced for what they serve. (To be fair if you have it with a panini etc it's only £2:50).
I had the steak pie, which had a healthy portion of steak, very good chips and veg. The sauce with the steak was rather strange, not unpleasant but one I had not encountered before.... Tasted as though it was full of powdered gravy...
The staff did not seem to enjoy working, no smiles or pleasant comments, all very functional.
This place has such potential but we're unlikely to return.

We stopped off for lunch on our way to Oban, wish we hadn't bothered. The young lady who greeted us was lovely, very friendly. We were given menus and she took our drinks order. The food was expensive but everything sounded nice. We both decided on the Venison burger which came with chips. The burgers were delicious but unfortunately the chips were awful, very dry and tasted like they had been cooked earlier and just dipped in the fryer to refresh them. Certainly not worth £13.95 each. When we went to pay we were asked if everything was ok, we said we didn't enjoy the chips they were very dry and they just said, oh I'll mention it to the Chef. Obviously not interested and I very much doubt that they mentioned it to the Chef. Wouldn't recommend.

The Cruin is situated along Loch Lomond about 5 minuted drive north of Balloch
We planned our wedding here with the on site wedding planners. And eventually tied the knot on the 4/6/2016. They went above and beyond to accommodate our special day. And boy oh boy what a day. Everything was perfect. They even somehow managed to have the weather to be perfect too. So our photographer was really pleased.
We have been to the Cruin before the wedding just for food. And the menu and dishes are to die for. The service is first class. I honestly cant think of a bad point to say about them. We will go back for as long as they will have us.
