La Barbe is a truly French Restaurant, established 35 years ago and located opposite the wonderful Priory Park in Reigate, Surrey. La Barbe is a place that is welcoming, friendly and strongly connected to the landscape. We serve fine, freshly cooked French cuisine with a modern twist. The atmosphere is informally elegant and French through and through, from the genuinely friendly staff to the decor and, most importantly, the delicious food. Our chefs elaborate a new menu every season, creating an exciting selection of French dishes with a modern twist presented with the flair you would expect in Reigate’s own corner of France. The emphasis is on local ingredients, freshness, flavour and fabulous presentation. Our restaurant wine list offers carefully selected wines some of which organic from most of the different French wine regions but also some excellent new world wines.
Had a great Sunday Lunch with family at this excellent French Restaurant. We had the three course set lunch which was reasonably priced. The food was excellent and served by attentive well presented and pleasant staff. Definitely a place to go for great food. The wine wasn't bad either! Will definitely go again.

Very impressed with the service and the delicious food. Menu is a bit different from the norm with some dishes I didn't recognise. We shared Chicken Tikka Makhani and King Prawn Karahi with rice, nan bread and vegetables and the sauces were wonderful. Cheerful, helpful service rounded off a nice evening.

The Joshua Tree Free House is Surrey's best kept secret established in 2001 by Kevin the Chef Proprietor. Our cosy pub / restaurant is situated on the edge of Earlswood common overlooking the 11th green of Redhill and Reigate Golf course. Kevin uses fresh ingredients to produce home cooked restaurant quality food, in addition to this we offer traditional Sunday lunches as well as a bar snack menu, all of which can be enjoyed in our high beamed chapel restaurant area or in the more relaxed bar area which offers a choice of 4 real ales.
We returned to the Joshua Tree for a second year and once again we were delighted with our meal, the service and the ambience.
This was a company Christmas party for 28 people. All our meals were served promptly and were delicious.
We will be back!

Saturday 20th jan 2017.
Another really great visit to this lovely pub. We live in Ashtead, but love to drive out to the Seven Stars.
It’s such a lovely cosy pub with a great atmosphere.
We only came for drinks, but ended up ordering two house burgers which were absolutely delicious.
I believe they have a new chef and the food is testament to it.
Looking forward to going back very soon.
Great job guys :)

We are not local to Reigate but visited here last weekend with our friends and had a lovely meal.
It is in a lovely location and a cosy pub/restaurant. The food here was lovely my burger was cooked to perfection and the helpings were just right. The service was amazing and we were made to feel very welcome.
Thank you Skimmington Castle for a wonderful meal and we will be sure to visit again soon
Unable to leave a full review, but excellent on food, service and value for money.

We came here primarily for a coffee pit-stop, on the way from Devon to Gatwick. I carefully selected this place and when I saw from the photos "artisan bakery and coffee shop" I thought to myself, that's the place!
Let's start with the food...delicious. The bread is fabulously tasty, both me and my wife rated our toasted sandwiches as excellent (mine the brie with walnuts).
However the coffee was average, in fact it was a MAJOR let down and when I saw the shenanigans at the coffee making area I was in utter disbelief! Whilst we were waiting for our sandwiches and coffee I observed the "barista" in action (I think she's also the owner), trying to teach a girl and a boy (both staff members, both teenagers) how to tamper coffee. I then saw her pour the milk for a customer's coffee and I thought that this must be a joke, I've never witnessed such an act of impurity within a coffee shop before, pouring from the side of the milk jug hence latte art-LESS. I am a coffee snob, I pour latte art myself and pay very good money for top quality single estate beans, yet I'm not a professional Barista and here I am paying a quasi-Barista, a charlatan within an "artisan coffee shop" to make me a specialist cup of coffee. I must be an idiot!
Anyway my cappuccino was forgotten about, which is fine as mistakes happen so I went up and reminded them about my order. A cup of espresso was sitting on the counter so she took the cup and chucked(!!) milk into it, I asked if the espresso was fresh because I didn't see her pull the shot (by this time a minute or so of "observation time" had passed including the time it took me to walk to the counter) and she assured me it was. I don't think it was.
So what am I trying to get at here? 1) Don't stick "artisan coffee shop" on the window and expect to get away with it, and; 2) don't train your staff to be baristas when you yourself are totally inept. I'm going to go for the jugular here and say that in hindsight I'm not surprised, because all of the staff were low paid teenagers and when management/owners prioritise low pay over quality then you get a 2/5 from me (it would have been a 1/5 but for the sandwiches)! My advice is to change the window sign to "coffee shop and artisan bakery", or employ a fully trained professional Barista.
After my poor experience yesterday at Devon Coffee, I'm certainly having a "I'm mad as Hell and I'm not going to take this anymore" moment (Howard Beale in the 1975 film classic Network).

We booked here for supper recently and had great steaks and juicy chicken. The service was good too.
Requests - please could you improve the tonic water you stock and when customers order mushrooms as a side, could we have whole ones like you used to offer and not three halves for a portion which works out as one and half mushrooms for a portion and is very mean and expensive??

Went for a gin tasting last Saturday afternoon and we all had an excellent time. Our host was extremely knowledgable and very entertaining. Would thoroughly recommend it for a good group activity.
Apart from that the pub was well run, very clean and the beer well kept.
Definitely worth a visit.

Consistently good quality food at reasonable price. We usually order ahead because at peak times, particularly Friday, the shop can get very crowded (reputation) and waiting times can be lengthy. Our order is always ready for collection at the time booked. We have tried various fish and all have been enjoyable. There is a small restaurant here which is particularly good for families. We have tried a number of fish and chip outlets in the area over the years and this one is the only one we will now. Go to for a fish and chip supper. Lovely grub.
