Great variety of trees and most were labeled. Loved the arid garden section and walking/cycling path around the lagoon with the Bridges to and from the island. Plenty of bird life to enjoy and the children's playground area looked lots of fun. The amenities were clean and well stocked. Great area for picnics, fishing or family time.

Did it in bits over three days, first the central bit between Environmental Display and Wodonga Drive, then from Baillie Street and finally to and beyond Weir. Birds and eucalypts to keep camera busy, but my key was better understanding why holding back the Wimmera River here and in downstream towns is so important socially as well as environmentally. Locals place great value on their limited and sometimes precarious water supply.

The Wimmera Rivers runs from Mount Cole in the Pyrenees to Jeparit in the Mallee. At times the river is quite dry especially in places like Glenorchy or Campbells Bridge, but is amazing when in flood. Areas around Horsham,Dimboola and Jeparit are kept artificially high by uses of weirs.
Highlights:
Horsham Weir
Weir to Ballie St river walk
Anzac Centenary Bridge
Sawyer Park War Memorial
Riverside (outside Horsham off Henty Hwy)
Quantong - old railway bridge
Dimboola Rec Reserve- river walk
Horsehoe Bend and Ackle Bend camping
West Wail Reserve camping
Jeparit weir- always seems to amazing birdlife including pelicans

What a gem this place is! Chris was so attentive and full of knowledge about wine and the surrounding area, the cheese platter was amazing and sparkling wine perfect. We were lucky to visit on a beautiful sunny day so we could sit outside and enjoy wine tasting in the garden. Highly recommend a visit here :)

Similar to previous post, art gallery is in a temporary location so nearly all exhibits are packed away except for one (which was not really that interesting). Will visit again once they have relocated which will be mid 2014.

As we have lived in Horsham many years now, Green Lake was always a great place to go for a drive, short walk to the waters edge; a place to sit an contemplate, a place to make decisions, a place to have fun splashing in the water, swim a bit, sit in a boat, just be.

consecrated in 2004 to replace the smaller memorial at the swimming pool. very thorough memorial with many points of interest. located at sawyer park which is on the lovely wimmera river and around the halfway mark of the weir to ballie st trail along the river

amazing structure that is a long time coming. great idea to connect southbank to the rest if community. the design is a ripper as well. love it. the playground down from bridge on southbank does the job.
TIP: barnes blvd side features more parking and as an adventure playground

The palm trees of May Park having seen many a local and traveller enjoying its shade on a hot day. amazing spot too relax and too meet friends. popular with travellers to stretch their legs after buying some fast food. one of my favourite places in town. the may and millar wagon is worth as look and so is the shaded playground
