So many of Madrid’s buildings look like castles, you’ll think you’ve stumbled into a fairytale. Even City Hall is astounding, with its white pinnacles and neo-Gothic features. A self-guided architecture tour can begin by the great bear statue in the central Puerta del Sol. Wander by the fanciful Royal Palace before absorbing the natural beauty of Retiro Park, then visit one of the city’s many museums. You could happily cap off each day by nibbling on forkfuls of paella while sipping Spanish rioja.

We went here because if the good rating on tripadvisor. This restaurant is miles away from the center, in a not so decent looking residential area. When we arrived at 9pm, it was not busy, actually it was completely empty. The restaurant is traditional. The food is plain, but good, but not so good to justify his high rate and certainly not worth the taxi ride.

My friends and I explored Chueca a sufficient amount of time to build up a serios appetite. But it still was no match for what we encountered in this quiet and simple cocido joint. It was our first experience with cocido madrileño and everyone in our group from the serious meat grubbers to the flexible vegetarians was impressed. The garbanzos and cabbage were the highlights - I've never said that about cabbage and probably never will again - but the mountain of meat we were served was also delicious, probably more so than we could appreciate given how full we were by the point it arrived. Our servers were very friendly and accommodating. Great, authentic madrileño experience! But there is only cocido, so if you don't know what that is, look it up...its real good.

Jose Espasandín, entrepreneur and owner restorer of Los Montes de Galicia since 1997 has been faithful to its commitment to diners who have gone through the restaurant Azcona, 46.The concept of Montes de Galicia is very simple. Is to offer a complete dining experience, from a pecking bar with fine wines by the glass, a variety of both classic and modern recipes and cocktails author. And all this in a pleasant and surrounded by a service transmitting passion and a desire to make the client environment.
Saturday evening dinner. Had a drink at the bar before we were taken to our table.
Decided on 21st anniversary menu. Phenomenal value , really the best quality for value we have experienced in a long time.
Service by Alen was exceptional he was attentive, professional , efficient and gave the impression he wanted to make your dining an memorable experience.
Food was perfectly cooked and presented but make sure you are hungry ( don’t eat a large lunch). Variety was very good for starters with good options for main courses.
This is a very well run restaurant with professionalism throughout.
Taxi was arranged with the press of a button and arrived 5 mins later.
Thanks to Alen and all staff we had a great night.

Cuisine, art?,? Culture?, For me a means of expressing feelings, based on knowledge, through training and continuous work. I was born in Bilbao, and after studying law in Madrid, and get Le Grand Diplome Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, I have not stopped wasting the opportunities I've had to learn and work with chefs from the likes of Luis Irizar, Jaume Subiros, Ricardo Idiaquez Angel Paracuellos, Juanmari Arzak ...; performing stages at restaurants like Le Toit de Passy, Duquesnoi, The Motel Emporda; and I teach at various private schools in Spain, as Telva, Alembic, Cayenne, ... With this background, I opened Maitia, a restaurant with a few tables; simple decor, a secluded and cozy atmosphere where you can eat well, seasonal cuisine. The letter, short, with suggestions for daily news; products, choose me, here and there, but all of very good quality. Any day other than Sunday or Monday, stop by Maitia. Covadonga de la Rica. I continue ...
You feel like you are sitting in the chef owner's home. She is lovely and came to the table to describe the evening's choices. The food is very tasty although the portions are on the small side. It was a nice dining experience. We went for my wife's birthday. My only disappointment was the lack of candle on her dessert.

I had great expectations for this pricey place considering all reviews and the fact it is in Madrid: a food paradise. Anyway, it is a worthy experience. At some point, dishes based on ingredient combinations producing unexpected flavor was kind of repetitive. Overall, it is must-go visit if you like restaurants based on several-step dinners. The atmosphere is excellent, not noisy and the service was highly professional. They knew a lot about wines. Some dishes require you to move from your table to the kitchen.
Tip: It better to avoid the wine pairing and select the wine bottle by yourself.

La Candela Resto is a tiny restaurant located in the center of Madrid where we would like you to experience a gastronomy travel. We offer three degustation menues: the long one, the medium one and the short one, with seasonal products and a lot of imagination. In La Candela Resto you need to open your mind before you open your mouth.
The place is absolutely fantastic! Very innovative food, nice presentation from the waitors all evening, and the enthusiasm of the waitors was apparent and joyful.
We had the 17-course dinner (which by the way was extended with an 18th dish), including both rare ingredients as well as common ingredients combined and prepared like never seen before. All beautyfully presented in various innovative ways.
The food was accompanied by the "small" wine menu, which included around 14 different wines, only served in smaller quantities. The sommelier even had an eye for pouring slightly less wine for my girlfriend.
The tables were well spaced in the room, allowing conversation (and the simultaneous work of multiple waitors around our table for two).
Only a couple of less positive remarks: The room is not so cosy, with hard white porcelain tiles on the walls (think: slaughterhouse), and a few dishes included smoke which kind of drowned other tastes - even if being served at the neighbouring table.
Note: Take care to slow down and set the pace yourself, as the dishes will otherwise arrive quite rapidly. Even after learning this trick, the full experience lasted from 20:30 to midnight, and we never found ourselves waiting for the next dish.
A night that just flew away, while enjoying the various innovative tastes...
and with reasonable prices as well :-)

CEBO is an exclusive culinary proposal based on a contemporary, progressive, free-style culinary concept that focuses on the source product and continuous reinvention through a seasonal menu. The 33-year-old chef from Madrid, Aurelio Morales, heads up the gastronomic direction of the CEBO restaurant, where he will develop a contemporary and sophisticated cuisine that highlights the quality of the source ingredients.
Stylish, modern restaurant with extremely knowledgeable staff offering first-rate service. There were 2 tasting menus to choose between: one with 10 courses focused more on typical dishes from Madrid and the other a gastronomic tour of Spain offering 17 courses. We opted for the former and were rather glad we did for although the portions are not huge (thankfully), they were packed with flavour and very rich - delicious goes without saying - and felt more would have been challenging! Both menus necessarily involve quite a lot of intervention from the staff as they present each dish and we felt 10 was more than enough to strike a good balance between the theatre of fine dining and conversation! Excellent wine choices and the chef came round and addressed each table - best of luck to him: a well-deserved Michelin star! Food with wine/Pedro Ximenez x 2 total bill 180 euros which we felt was good value for such fine quality. Highly recommended!

We visited on a Thursday night in February around 8 pm and the bar was already buzzing- given most people don’t venture out until later it shows you how popular Salmon Guru is. The decor is varied with a lounge area, pop art section and a red room at the back.
The staff were friendly and the cocktails superb! We had a Yellow Chilli and a Chipotle cocktail that both had a chilli kick but not unpleasantly so. Both came with test tube shots of mint and ginger to freshen your palette between first sips, very welcome. Cocktails were around 10 or 11 euros each and it felt like good value for the experience

Exceptional service, beautiful food and a large wine menu with a few options by the glass. A generous helping of cheesecake was brought to us by the lovely young lady who made it and is highly recommended. The Verdejo by the glass was even more enjoyable with old classics like Billy Holiday as background music, so we had a few more. A thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing lunch after a hectic and rainy morning in Madrid. We hope to be back soon!

A small place close to Gran Via, but what a burger! Juicy, but not too juicy, and the meat, yummy! I can not say it is the best burger in Madrid, but it must be close. A must visit, if you adore a good burger.
