This is one of those homely restaurants that can be found all over Germany. Small and cosy place with just around 12 tables indoors. The food, though, stands out tremendously from the other restaurants I tried. The schnitzel (breaded pork chop) and garden salad are sincerely the best I ever had so far, in whole of Germany. The owners are very friendly and accommodating, so if you are looking for an authentic German dining experience, you will be happy you found Backstubb.

Good Italien and the food was also nicely presented. The atmosphere is nice. The only problem was that we had a waitress who did not speak German nor English.

We used to go to Tokyo Sushi Bar in front of the Mannheim train station, but for a sit-down meal, we would go to Tokyo Sushi Restaurant at Q4. Unfortunately, Tokyo Sushi Bar is now closed, and only the restaurant is left. The owners and the staff are Vietnamese, but the sushi is fantastic! The fish is fresh and the pieces are big.The menu offers some traditional sushi rolls and some delicious rolls created by the restaurant. My favorite roll is Ebi-ten Spezial. Reservation is recommended as the restaurant is always busy.

Capitalising on basf wine cellar, this is an excellent restaurant, 5 course dinners very well prepared. And naturally, wines and liquors selection is significant. the best of what Germany can offer. And finally, the service is perfect

Went on business so expected it to be good but they exceed all my expectations. The setting is magnificent, we sat outside enjoying the summer evening and the fabulous architecture, the service exemplary, the food was fantastic. I started with Lobster Ice Cream with Black Tiger Prawn and Mandarin Oil. WOW!! Absolutely fantastic. I had the New Zealand Lamb steak as a main which was cooked to perfection, pink for me, and the Pinot Noir was incredibly drinakable.I didn't have dessert but there was only four so not a massive choice. That aside the meal was thoroughly enjoyable in a great setting and great company. If you are in town then make this your first choice.

The food is good and tasty and the service is very kind. We ate a mixed starters plate and afterwards had grilled meat with chips. The chips were very good! So we spent an enjoyabel evening there.

In this classy and top French / German fine dining restaurant. An ideal place for a very special probably romantic dinner with a very attentive and friendly host, patron and "chief of staff" always ready for a small talk or advice on the big list of exquisit wines or individual wishes that will be all fulfilled. By far the best restaurant bin Mannheim despite the higher Gault Millau ranking of Da Gianni

This rustic restaurant has been serving hearty, “just like how Oma would cook it” German fare since 1904 - the portions are generous, the wait staff is friendly and service is prompt.
Maffenbeier's regular menu (also available in English) consists of specialties from the Rheinland-Pfalz region. Their lunch menu changes weekly, making the most out of seasonal ingredients. We enjoy a good “Schnitzel" from time-to-time, and it’s nice to see that “Schnitzel" fans can choose from several different sauces and finishing (“natur” or “paniert”).
The restaurant has a 300-seat beer garden out front, which is very popular in the warmer months. When it gets colder, a small tent is set up to shelter guests who still want to dine outdoors, smokers included. Due to the location of the tent, guests dining indoors will still get a whiff of cigarette smoke because the windows and doors are left open.
Nevertheless, it’s still a good place to visit when you’re craving meat, potatoes and good beer, not necessarily in that order. Good value for money too.
