Our Block House restaurant is right by the Georgstraße shopping boulevard. When you come here, you may well spot some Hannover 96 footballers or one of the German Football Association's referees. Another famous face who stops by occasionally is former German chancellor Gerhard Schröder, with his wife and kids.

Talking of steaks, Block house is always the first place that comes to my mind for a casual lunch with a good quality. Good food is always guaranteed for you there. The only negative is as it is a very popular place with no Reservations, sometimes you need to wait in a queue untill you are offered a table. BTW even during this waiting line you are always accepted with respect. My favorite steak place.

Ate here with a bunch of business collegues while at a trade show. Food and Presentation was marvelous. Service a bit slow at times but you never ran out of beer. Very very good food - Patio has good atmosphere if it is warm enough. Great Greek hospitality - you can't go wrong.

I have been there for a business dinner; location is fascinating, being an old stable finely restored. Maybe a little bit noisy
Service is careful and reasonably quick, considering the number of guests.
A careful kitchen and chef are elaborating nice dishes, extremely well presented. Good for meat or fish, I tried monkfish, definitely to be recommended. Good list of wines.
Considering the level of the location, of the service and of the food, good ratio price/quality

We chose this place as it came up as the number 1 restaurant on Tripadvisor. You would never know it is here as you have to go into the theatre entrance and down the stairs to access the restaurant - we couldn't see it advertised...MoreDear davidandmel, thank you so much for your visit and compliment. Really nice restaurant in a lovely building.
Service was excellent . Very tasty food with a great presentation. A very nice wine selection. We had a very large group but were accommodated very nicely. Highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely visit again when next in Hannover.

I come to this restaurant often. This time I introduced two other couples to the great middle eastern food on offer here. I had made a reservation in October in anticipation of a trip we made to the region to celebrate the coming New Year. We arrived for our lunchtime reservation and were greeted as the first guests of the day. The waiter was a little stiff and severe but seemed competent. We received our „Mazza“ and all were very impressed with the food. When we wanted to order more, we gestured to the waiter. He came to tell us that the table would be cleared and then he would return to take our order. He passed our table at least 10 times over the next half hour and never reacted again to our gestures! Finally, when we ordered our desserts and coffees—-the coffees came but not our desserts. We drank our coffees and waited about 20 minutes for our desserts. Frustrated, we requested our bill. The bill charged us for the never delivered desserts! When we pointed this discrepancy out, the desserts were removed from the bill and they offered us the desserts free of charge. By then we just wanted to leave and we asked the waiter to pack the desserts so that we could take them with us.
I like this place and will try it again, but I hope that no one is ever treated like we were today again!

A group of 8 were there on a Monday night. Service was excellent. Italian food was enjoyed by all. Pasta was ordered by several and everyone enjoyed. 3 fish platter was excellent. The most interesting was desserts - exotic and served on a plate with multiple items. The place is packed and reservation is a must. Overall, a great place for dinner and business meetings.
