Maliseet Trail

I've hiked to these falls several times, even ice climbing them in the winter and camping mid winter at the base of the falls. Definitely check this out in the spring or after a period of continuous rain days like I just did. Very pretty hike and high falls with a pretty much continuous drop of about 70 feet.
You can do this in an hour return but best to take your time and have a picnic at the base. Allow 2 hours.

L.P. Fisher Public Library

My brother and I travelled here to do some ancestry research on our Great Grand Parents, who lived in this town 150 years ago. Greg, the head Librarian, located scores of information for us and did an excellent job of researching our ancestry before our arrival. I couldn't have asked for better service! The library is located almost at the dead center of town on the main roadway (coincidentally names "Main Street"), so it's very easy to find.

Woodstock Farm & Craft Market

The market has been serving the community for over 45 years. There is a selection of Farm, in season produce, dry beans, maple products, honey, pickles, jams, jellies & meat (lamb, beef, pork, chicken, turkey). Several local artisans & crafters have some wonderful art, hand crafted jewelry, knits, crochet items, sewn items, wood crafts, tole painted items, leather crafts, folk art, etc. Friday the kitchen is open and there is a BBQ as well as many other vendors on site for breads & sweet treats. Through the week there is usually only one vendor there looking after everyone's booth. We work together to keep the market open 6 days a week.

While not as large as some of the local markets in major cities, this one offers a selection of items that have been produced locally. There are jams, baked items, knitted goods, crafts, etc., even some local wine! There was a food truck outside and...Morethank you

Old Carleton County Court House

Reviewed By trainfan2000 - Hamilton, Canada

This is a beautifully preserved historic building that is away from the center of the town. Unfortunately it was closed when we visited but it was worth seeing the restored exterior of the building. There did not seem to be an organized parking lot associated with the building and we found ourselves parking on a lawn. Would like to visit again sometime it was open.

Creek Village Gallery & Cafe

Reviewed By trainfan2000 - Hamilton, Canada

This is a small, yet excellent place to find the work of local artisans. A wide variety of arts are displayed here: jewellery making, painting, metal working, etc. There are some truly unique pieces for sale here. The items are beautifully crafted and displayed well. There is a small cafe in the back that offers soup and sandwiches for a light lunch. If you are in the area and seeking local items this would be a "must do" stop.

Connell House

Built for the Honourable Charles Connell in 1839, Connell House is a National Historic Site and home to the Carleton County Historical Society. Connell House is used for exhibits, weddings, & meetings.

Reviewed By CFofLL - Fredericton, Canada

We toured Connell House as part of a history tour. It is a nicely restored almost 200 year old home that is the home of the Carleton County Historical Society. They have a nice collection of paintings, photographs and artifacts from Woodstock and the County's past. They have a wonderful collection of antique musical instruments that one can still play, and unlike other museums I have been in, most are in tune and playable, and you are allowed to play them if you are able to do so. They even have a theremin, the first electronic musical instrument, that works, although I think it would take some instructions and time to figure it out. Staff are very helpful and they put on a wonderful lunch for our group, and they have an afternoon tea for visitors.
