We had dinner here with a colleague.
Slow service.
The waitress who took our order messed things up, and another waiter came directly with the main course, skipping our starters.
We asked him about the starters, he thought we already had been served.
She came back, brought the wrong ones.
Finally came again with our order, and served it accompanied by a "There you go", that could probably fit in a McDonald's, but not in a restaurant of that price range. No apologies whatsoever from her.
Main course service was done by the other waiter, in a normal way this time.
Food was good, but the service was clearly bad. Not up to our expectations.

Restaurant i beliggende i naturskønne omgivelse, med hollandske madpandekager, stort ølkort med de bedste belgiske øl, legeplads til børnene både ude og inde.
Staying in Billund, close to Legoland and Lalandia, we wanted to eat and experience something different, where also the kids could enjoy themselves. The restaurant is more a cafe type of place, which is right on the small lake "Kvie Sø". It is used a lot during the summer for swimming and sunbathing. It has a playground and peacocks walking around. Great place for the kids to run around. The place is very informal and has a cosy vibe. The food is fine, based on pancakes as the main ingredients.
The place is in the middle of no-where, so just follow your GPS, and just follow it even though you could doubt
TIP: Go for the smal pancakes( small/big) for your main course, you will need the room for the dessert.
Make sure to decide on WHO is driving. They have a great selection of beers and most of them are high in alcohol.

Everything in Denmark is costly, but this place seemed to really hit my wallet hard!
Don't get me wrong, on all occasions we've visited (multiple times in 2015 + 2016) the food and cakes have been delicious, just don't come thinking this is going to be a €2 kind of job - because it's not.
On the plus side, there's free WIFI!

Lovely warm welcome, & friendly, efficient service for our large group.
We had 2 large tables & had pre ordered our food. The food was very nice - we had various different dishes & everyone really enjoyed theirs.
The ambiance & decor was lovely too :-)

We were able to pre-order from the menu at reception and the meal was served within minutes of taking our seats. The food was well presented and tasted amazing.

We were a family of four, 2 pizzas, a combined started, garlic bread/pizza, beers, soft drinks....for under 300danish kronor.....that's almost less than a MacDs. Decor was sparse, clean, average some art on the walls. Service was perfunctory.

We arrived at Filskov Kro after a long day of driving through heavy rain. We stopped by at Legoland to check for hours and prices for the next day. We were soaking wet and cold and shocked by this weather. It was just the beginning of September and we were not yet ready to say good by to summer.
Filskov Kro looked like an Andersen storybook place. Inside was dry and warm. The girl at the front desk was kind and welcoming, making it very easy for us to check in.
Once in our room it was easy for us to turn the heat on and get our coats dried for the next day. The room was really clean and smelled fresh. We had showers to warm up (cute shower with colorful little square ceramic tiles, however I am not sure about nordic shower design without any anti-splash mean like a curtain or a glass wall :)
The kids were happy to find a children playroom which contained also some pretty good video games. We were happy too to have a quiet hot tea and respectively, a good beer before dinner.
At dinner we felt like royalty. Everything was elegant, the white table cloth and napkins, the tall wine glasses, the porcelain dish-ware ... The music was soft but entertaining. And then, there was the food. As appetizers they brought us homemade bread sticks with a wonderful smoked cream sprinkled with a dash of crushed wood coal on top, for a more intense smoke flavor. The kids had the Filskov beautiful Burger which came with homemade golden fries presented in a small frying basket, next to the three different sauces (tarragon mayo, simple mayo and ketchup). They had the homemade icecream cake too for dessert. We, the parents, had the summer menu although the weather would disagree: smoked scallops first course, wonderful tender veal for the main course and beautiful dessert with ice-cream in fancy sauce with fresh berries. A great red wine and we were in heaven. All was divine. Cheers for the chef! After dinner, dad and oldest son play some billiards just downstairs.
The next morning, at breakfast, we learned the real meaning of a breakfast buffet (Swedish, continental or european breakfast as they call it in the New World). Fresh right out of the oven croissants, breads and mini muffins, a juice squeezer next to a bowl of halved oranges, an innovative hand operated cheese slicing device of rotating wire with a wooden platform, fresh yogurt next to fresh fruits, cold cuts of meat, boiled eggs, homemade jam, cereals, milk, cocoa, and of course hot coffee. We were happily fed and ready for a full day at Legoland. Blue skies and brilliant Sunshine this morning.
All ready for check out. All but a tiny little white rabbit who quietly remained forgotten in our youngest son's bed (his most favorite baby toy). After arriving home and thinking he was lost for good, long crying and grieving after him, we received the good news from Filskov Kro staff: they found it and kindly mail it to us (after sending a picture of him sitting at the reception desk carrying a tiny Denmark flag in his hand). Imagine the joy of seeing him!
That was our story of an evening and a morning at Filskov Kro. We wanted to stay longer. Perhaps we'll go back during the warmer summer time when we can play in the pool, play golf or tennis or explore the whimsical forest near by. And then go for rides at Legoland ... as many as our stomach can take.

There isn't much choice in Grindsted and there wasn't much open either! so we went to the café based on previous reviews.
The service was great and the décor is modern and clean. We both went for steak options and the food was served quickly and was delicious. They have a choice of beers on draught and my only regret was that I didn't have enough room for dessert!.
I wouldn't wait too long though as I think they closed just after 20:00 hours as it was a quiet night.

I visited the Billund Pizza Steakhouse whilst in the town on holiday to see the LEGO House. I picked this place as a result of the other reviews on Tripadvisor, I do suspect that the other people visiting somewhere else!
The restaurant itself is airy, relatively clean and laid out well. The staff spoke little English, which was fine, so I simply pointed to “pepperoni” in the pizza section of the menu. 20 or so minutes later my food came... the base was virtually raw and the crusts were just done. I didn’t expect a culinary masterpiece, but I was hoping for a plate of edible ingredients- unfortunately the pizza was effectively still in the form of dough!
The waiters had disappeared and didn’t reappear until I had eaten a few crusts to keep me going until could get some decent food at my hotel.
I went to the counter to pay for my drink, but I was not going to pay for “food” that was actually not edible. I was rudely told to F?!& off and never go back. They made no attempt to apologise, just tell me I was wrong.
I am now banned from the Billund Pizza Steakhouse, I so thrilled!
