The general ambiance is nice (there is a pleasant little courtyard which was very pleasant on a hot summer’s evening). The food is wholesome and nicely presented, without being haute cuisine (but then, that isn’t what you’d go there for). The service was pleasant and reasonably efficient.

We stayed overnight and wanted a place to eat supper with the kids.
The restaurant is well placed next to the NGK Church and has a lovely setting.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
Being in lamb country we all wanted to try the way they prepared it.
Unfortunately it was tough and badly prepared with no flavour. We were so looking forward to the meal and left disappointed.
Not sure if it was because they were too busy over the holiday period or just the normal way they prepare it but I would suggest they look at that.

Pioneers is a Traditional Karoo Food Restaurant. Portions are generous. Staff and owners are very friendly, you will feel immediately welcome. Our Motto: "Come as strangers, leave as friends and return as regulars"
We had some wonderful lunch at this rather nice restaurant. The food we had here was seasoned beautifully to ensure fresh, natural, tasty and rather exotic African flavours. The ingredients used were very fresh hence the truly authentic African tastes and flavours, almost like tasting a part of Africa on our plates, while the beautiful aromas making it clear that we were really dining in Africa. The service was fine with nice waiting staff. Overall this was a rather satisfying dining experience, and we left happy to have dined here.

I returned to visit the two sisters’ nursery and eatery. Since my previous visit a year ago, they have upgraded the beautiful décor and as always, made changes to the nursery exhibits. Besides plants, one can find small gifts and deli products. Usually busy during the morning and at lunch time, it was lovely to sit down for a quiet afternoon coffee with cake. My friend from Nieu-Bethesda and I shared the lemon meringue – which she adores. It was perfectly baked and served with good coffee. Service was prompt and professional.
Ideal for a quality meal or plate of cake in serene surrounds.

Spoil your family & eat out at Desert Springs Spur. We are the best steakhouse & burger restaurant in Graaff-Reinet. Bring along your kids for some great food & dessert from our famous Spur menu.
Have eaten here several times in recent years when passing through GR, at all times of the day, and I have really been satisfied on each occasion - difficult for an eatery to attain this level of consistency. Food and service has been good on all occasions and there is generally a good vibe here, due to staff and management interest in customers. This time (supper), I had a Lazy Aged Rump (500g) which was exceptional - the equivalent in terms of meat quality and preparation (medium rare) of any restaurant serving this type of fare, anywhere in the world! My wife's Gluten Free requirement was also attended to with ease.

There's not a lot going on in this town - only one retail shop - but this coffee shop delighted us. Only Seating outside that provides an opportunity to read all the hand-written testimonials on the exterior walls. The owner presents good cakes and coffees and is willing to walk you through their car museum at the back of the premises. Petrol-Heads in the middle of the Karoo..............We asked about local services and were told that she drives the 360 return trip to Port Elizabeth once a month for groceries and the doctor arrives once per week. Ah! life in the middle of nowhere, own pace, no crime, big skies.....................

I stopped at this restaurant for lunch. Service was friendly although a bit slow. Food options good. The vegetarian Sandwich (avocado, walnut, feta, tomatoes, lettuce, apples) was very good. The boboti with chips was a good appetizers, cake of the day and trio of South African desserts pretty good. The capuchino was excellent. Prices were reasonable for the kind of place and food. The shops are interesting. One of them had many gourmet food items including some ready to reheat meals such as bobotie, lazañas, soups etc. Not the cheapest store or restaurant, but good quality items. I would return.

This environment is created with a unique setting.
It appears that the house was converted into a restaurant , catering for both indoor and outdoor Seating.
The restaurant offers breakfast , dinner , lunch & takeaways. Visa/Master cards accepted.
Each room has a number of nice table settings where patrons can place order with waiting staff.
It has a nice contemporary feel to it and also offers a selection of great gifts / souvenirs for family and friends.
It is very popular with locals and travellers passing through on route to other towns / provinces. Regrettably I cannot comment on the food/pricing / taste as it does not cater for Halaal meals. There is sufficient on street parking managed by car guards making the area safe. Located in at Windmill Junction area, Somerset Street , where there are many other adjacent shops, restaurants, coffee shops, antique shop and curious located next to one other.

We stopped by for a late lunch, and after being told to sit anywhere we liked, were promptly ignored by the staff. The owner was not present. We had to get up and ask for a menu after ten minutes, and after these arrived had to get up and ask for our order to make taken. Fifteen minutes had passed. We watched the waitress clearing the tables, and after a further ten minute wait, we left. The restaurant was not busy. It was 3pm.

The service and the food were equally great! No room for a dessert after the starter and main meal. Meat dishes are superb and well presented with accompanying vegetables.
