We are wordtravellers travelling the world with our own vehicle. On our way from the north to the South coast we stayed 4 days in Balito. A place full of empty houses and apartments in low season. We loved the place where we camped but Balito itself is boring. We walked to the Thompson bay beach and were amazed to find the black rocks behind private properties. Next to a small parking narrow stone stairs lead to a small beach area where a man made tidal pool is made. At the end of the pool a natural hole in the rock wall leads to another small beach surrounded with grass grown cliffs on the edge of them houses! It is a special place but visiting Balito to see that ..? If a Cafe with a nice teracce would have been there, maybe...

Holla Trails is a mountain bike and trail running trails system traversing 25 working farms just outside Ballito and consisting of 340 km of marked trails. Riders are amazed at the variety of track and spectacular scenery that is available. There is plenty of track for the newer riders as well as those looking for an adrenaline rush. Trails run through spectacular tropical forest, jeep track roads and plantation roads. Bike hire is available.
If you have a mountain bike or not as one can rent but if you into ridding trails then you have to hit Holla. They offer a few different options from easy kids rides to the grueling 80km route.
And there is a restaurant and kiddies area so the rest of the family can have fun when your out on the trails. If you can ride but not supper fit try the pink run you wont be disappointed, there is only one big hill but lots of lovely winding single track.

Have not been to this establishment for some time now Was very impressed with all the improvements that have taken around this restaurant especially for children and cyclists enthusiasts. The lunch time meal was good with beef hamburger and sweet potatoes chips.Others in our party had toasted sandwiches which were good .They had Jack black craft beer on special which was great .Well worth another visit.

i really liked this park. it's small but the owners are clearly very passionate and knowledgeable about the animals they care for.
they took us on a tour with the children and we learnt lots about all the animals and really appreciated the personal touch.
they do great work and i'd encourage anybody to visit to learn more about these beautiful animals.

Billed as a Provincial mall this very large complex on several levels has it all – lots of parking in the open and under cover – a wide choice of brand name and regular shops, supermarkets and a varied selection of eateries make for an interesting few hours – luckily we had a floor plan with all the retailers, banks, restaurants and other outlets color coded for ease of navigation – without it you could put a kilometer or so on your health monitor! – very handy for locals and visitors alike as it cuts out the 30 minute trip to Umhlanga to find something on a par - there is gallery and also "Court Space which can be sub let by tenants to expand their sales pitch for short periods

This is a working farm. They allow people to pick strawberries on Saturdays from 09:00 to 15:00. Entrance is R75. There is small coffee shop reasonably priced. Fun activity for all ages.
