The turquoise waters surrounding Fraser Island are a frenzy of sea life. The world’s largest sand island is a spectrum of vibrant greens, and the World-Heritage-listed sand bar is simply stunning and the perfect spot for beach fishing. There aren’t paved roads here, just sand tracks, making the entirety of Fraser Island one big 4WD, off-roading adventure.

Located on the Esplanade at Torquay, the dining experience at the Wild Lotus Restaurant & Bar is reflective of the Fraser Coast lifestyle. The menu showcases fresh local produce and seafood and is complimented with a sensational range of wines and great service. Wild Lotus Restaurant & Bar also caters for diners with gluten free, vegetarian and dairy free requirements. It is the perfect location for Fraser Coast wedding reception venues, engagement parties, fundraisers, business functions, corporate awards evenings, classy Hen's parties, and birthday parties.
This place comes recommended by friends. I attended a staff function and wasn’t overly impressed.
In particular, at one time the table arrangement was altered to cater for additional guests but the new arrangement blocked emergency egress for about a quarter of the guests & the restaurant staff & management didn’t see the problem.

Wood fired pizza!!!! Pasta and entree Gelato and cake!,
BEST PIZZA - delicious base, incredible sauce and gorgeous toppings. Very well priced - $16 - $20. Some pubs charge $25 for a bland bistro pizza. Paolo's Pizza's are authentic and delicious.
The pasta was also delicious and everything is made quick and fresh.
The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was warm. The sea breeze was welcomed.
Be sure to go here if you are a keen pizza lover - you won't be disappointed.

Used to visit this place weekly when I lived here and can I say - it never gets old. The food and drinks are always great and the location by the beach gives this place a really classy chill vibe. Menu is constantly being revamped but so far haven’t eaten anything really disgusting. Price is not cheap but still affordable, and worth every cent. Nothing in Brisbane is quite as good as this IMHO. Would advice booking in advance. Would consider travelling all the way to HB just to eat here. Drooling just thinking about it!

Bayaroma Cafe is one of Hervey Bay's best cafes. It is a charming cafe ideally located on the Hervey Bay Esplanade in beautiful Torquay opposite the best swimming spot, the popular train park for families and great new picnic spots on the foreshore. If you like, enjoy watching the world go by in our alfresco dining area with the sea breeze and beautiful climate or relax inside with the background music and delicious aromas. We are well-known for our amazing coffee, all day big brekkies, friendly staff and great service and are popular among locals & tourists alike.
We live in Brisbane.. every time we come visit our family we go to this cafe. The food, The service, is excellent!! It never changes. The staff go over and beyond to make sure you are happy. We are happy and we will be back.

Madigans is always busy, that speaks for itself. They are situated across the road from a great park with picnic areas and covered seats which has access to an awesome beach.
It is our custom to pick up something from Madigans and stroll across to the beach to eat it. We have never been disappointed!

What other Hervey Bay cafe can offer you the stunning views over the Marina to Fraser Island? At night you can enjoy the beauty as the moon rise over the water or see the raw power of nature as storms light up the sky over Fraser Island. Whether you choose to come for breakfast, lunch or dinner you will be able to choose from an extensive menu that showcases the freshest and finest ingredients that Hervey Bay and the Fraser Coast has to offer. We cater for all tastes and all dietary requirements. No matter what time you choose to visit Cafe Balaena you will always find the atmosphere to be relaxed and easy going. Soft music in the background ... warm sun and gentle breezes in summer ... cozy warmth on our cool winter nights ... and the very best that Hervey Bay has to offer ... you simply won't find a cafe with a better atmosphere in Hervey Bay.
Not great, but not bad. Food is tasty but not particularly refined, sorta like coarse cut vegetables and thick creamy sauce/ lots of cheese. Service was warm and attentive. Will not go out of my way to eat here but would not actively avoid either. Nice ambience by the water.
