There are not many restaurants in Bludenz. This is Italian and both reasonable in price and good (authentic). It is located on the pedestrian walk downtown.

Bludenz, one of five rather small cities in Vorarlberg, has a pleasant old town center with arcaded walkways - just as the not too far from from here, but bigger Feldkirch. For a break after maybe shopping (there are not too many sights around) a break is recommended at the Cafe Fritz in the equally pedestrianised, cobble-stoned Mühlgasse.
There is outdoor Seating, bu it is also nice to sit inside. All decor is attractive, with a touch of the old 'Wiener Kaffehaus'.
The confectionery offered is not on the menu-card, so for this one goes inside to the counter to see what is on offer. I went for a Marillenstrudel (apricot pie), which had intersting spicing, but not too many fruits. For the Cappuccino I was asked: with 'Sahne' (cream) or milk. Very Austrian and unusual in Italy or Switzerland. A glass of water came with it.
I saw on the menu card that at lunch-time (12-14h) they also serve warm meals. Definitely a good place for a stop in this very small historic town center, which makes for a pleasant stop en route, but which is not a travel destination in itself.

This restaurant is situated at the Landal Brandnertal Bungalow park. We stayed in an apartment and the first day it was easier to eat nearby. The restaurant wasn't crowded, maybe because it was the end of summer and this is a winter-sport region. The staff was very friendly. As it was our first time in Austria we ordered the Wiener Schnitzel. It was far-out the best I ever had. Also the desert (Coupe Heisse Liebe) was superb. The food was fresh and served quickly.
As we were served so friendly, we decided to eat here the rest of our stay. And we didn't regret it! Dinner for two with drinks and desert al together for 42 euro's.
We recommend the Wiener Schnitzel, the Grillteller (mixed Grill) and the Cordon Blue.

We had pizza and veal ragout with chantarelles, both very good. Although the restaurant was packed full, service was not only speedy, but also very friendly. We'll certainly go there again, especially as this restaurant seems to be one of the few being open during the summer season.

The 'Pizzeria Antonio' is quite a big place, cutting through a whole block from the main entrance at the Bahnhofstrasse to the pedestrianized, cobble-stoned Sturnenstrasse, where there is also some outdoor Seating.
My choice had been one of a few tables at the Sturnenstrasse. The friendly waiter came fast, so did everything else I ordered. Since there were Austrian dishes on offer as well I went for Vorarlberg's most typical speciality 'Kässpätzle'. Unlike most other places here the dish was offered only with salad not with the choice of the more traditional 'Apfelmus' to accompany it.
The dish came in an earthenware bowl, which was quite cold, so it was definitely not prepared in it. It was the third time I ordered this menu within a year. First in Bregenz it arrived in a wooden plate, then in Feldkirch in a piping hot iron plate. And for my taste it got less good everytime.
While in Bregenz they used tasty 'Bregenzerwälder Bergkäse' and in Feldkirch a mixture of Vorarlberger Emmentaler and Montafoner Suure Kees (sour cheese), here the waiter couldn't tell me, which cheeses were used, although from a geographical point of view it must have been the same combination as in Feldkirch.
The accompanying salad came drowned in a ready made Italian dressing. And the espresso in the end was something between cold and luke-warm.

I have eaten almost all items on the Menu. All were good, but the Roast of Pork "Schweinsbraten" was definitely the winner for me. Not only once, three times by now. The service is swift, friendly and efficient. An ideal place with some friends. I can only recommend it.
It's a pitty they do not have more Hofbrau Dishes like a Schweinshaxn or Weisswurst. Then a trip to Munich would not be necessary.

Bürserberg is a small country place, and Taleu Hotel-Restaurant gives you the feeling to be in one of those wealthy homes like 60-70 years ago with its typical atmosphere.
During the meal, we felt we were supervised and finally the Manager came to ask us, without any precaution, where we came from and which hotel we put up !!
We thought we should have better eaten, it was average and the Blaufränkisch wine was not worth its € 33,50.
At the moment we ask for the bill, the waiter "called" me without any precaution to follow him for the credit card payments.
Discretion is not the greater quality in that house, what a pity !

I really don't understand these positive ratings for Remise.
This is just an ordinary café bar "restaurant".
The service is friendly and efficient. For us that meant until 17:00, with the changing of the service.
With the new waitress the friendliness dropped, but efficiency stayed.
I can understand the critic of one visitor who felt service was just going for the money.
The menu is not divers. Mostly toasts. Be aware though, of the tunafish salad, presented as "für den kleinen Hunger". It is not a toast but a real full meal. Order that one, in case you are hungry.
The prices are OK for me, and in balance with what is offered. It is of course not "haute cuisine", and that is also not what is to be expected of this café-bar-"restaurant".
Remise is a good place to stay. Don't expect to much from it (don't read the other reviews ;) ), and you will not be disappointed.
