Room with A View, Seafood Restaurant situated within the Forth View Hotel in the coastal village Aberdour, Fife. Enjoy succulent scallops, wholesome halibut & Fresh Langoustines and many more delicious seasonal seafood dishes cooked to exquisite perfection. Whilst also enjoying the small but special menu you can enjoy the spectacular views of Edinburgh and the river Forth whilst listening to local Classical Guitar player Nick Rees on the sound system (who also plays live on occasion). Every seat offers a view of Edinburgh or Aberdour Harbour or climbers on the Hawkcraig Cliffs. On a sunny day it is nice to enjoy a pre-dinner drink in the garden area or eat Al fresco
Often great views from a restaurant equates to overpriced, poor quality food. This definitely is NOT the case with Room with a View. Location is spectacular with panoramic vistas looking over the bay to Aberdour, the Forth Rail Bridge and stretching over to Arthur’s Seat and beyond in Edinburgh.
The restaurant itself is small, only 8 or so tables tucked into a little dining room simply but neatly decorated in the Forth View Hotel. The building is down a steep track from the Silver Sands car park, either walk (no heals/posh shoes) or take the restaurant up on the offer of a lift.
The menu is small and well thought out, not too fancy but still with some innovation. Service was attentive without being overbearing.
Food, primarily seafood as you’d expect, was very well prepared and presented. Tasting plates are on offer for starters and desserts which offer a good chance to try a variety of dishes. Mains were also very well prepared with some interesting flavours and texture combos.
The wine list looks interesting, although unfortunately we didn’t have a chance to try many of them out.
We had lunch for three people - 3 courses with a glass of wine each all for just over £100 - very good value for money too.
Highly recommended.

We were in Kirkcaldy for one night and arrived late without a reservation. It looked like the restaurant was winding down and most people were leaving. We got a table for two nonetheless and enjoyed some delicious food and fantastic service.
Unexpectadly the owner Tom stopped by to chat to my wife and I after our main course. He was a lovely bloke and made the evening for us. We both agreed it made the meal that more special and the personal touch is often lost in a lot of restaurants we visit.
Also, I never thought I would eat liquorice and enjoy it but I did here. Bravo Tom!

Travelled from NW UK to visit family in Fife, had no prior expectations (being a keen Indian cook myself) and just happy to be with family.
Service prompt, attentive and every dish sublime. Best Indian food I’ve tasted for a long long time. King prawn jalfrezi absolutely amazing. Garlic naan’s and stuffed paratha too yummy to leave even though we were so full.
Well worth the 4 hour train journey and lucky for us cousin has air B and B on beachfront in Kinghorn :)

It's a comfortable place. My wife and I were very impressed with the quality of the food and drink, combined with an efficient level of service. The food is tasty, well presented, with a high level of attention to detail and presentation.
Coffee was also delicious and wife was pleased with her pot of tea and large slice of home made cake. Will definitely look forward to visiting again.
The one star was lost due to a problem with the entrance/exit door which lacks a 'door closer' system and all too often is left ajar/open by users leaving an unpleasant draught as a result.
I feel confident that the proprietor will give some attention to this.

Honestly very poor quality food for the price. Approx £10 for a sickly gourmet hotdog smothered in sugary onion chutney. Massive confusion from the kitchen over hand cut chips and French fries which appear on the menu - apparently they're the same thing. No teaspoons because they'd run out. Seriously? Poorly run and mediocre food. The chef truly is no chef. Only saving grace was the nice waitress and the beautiful view. Still will not be coming here again or recommending. When I said we weren't that happy with one dish I was told that it was fine and that it probably just wasn't to our taste. Sigh. Start using fresh ingredients and employ someone to head the kitchen who has higher standards and can actually provide some variety and quality.

Friendly helpful staff, good food, pleasant surroundings.
We visited Burntisland to catch up with family in the area and stayed at the Burntisland Sands Hotel. We had a double room and a twin room. Both were fine and cosy and had great views over the Forth. My one and only criticism of the place was the beds - the mattresses could do with replacing. Everything else was absolutely great! Everyone was friendly and welcoming and we felt right at home.
We ended up having lunch, dinner, drinks and breakfast within the hotel (in between walks on the stunning beach that’s literally two minutes away). All three meals were excellent and offered great value. 2/3 of us are vegetarian and we were spoiled for choice each time. For lunch we had sandwiches and toasties which all came with a nice salad and crisps. At dinner time we all had three courses and were delighted. Their vegetarian haggis, neeps and tatties came with a brilliant whisky sauce and we all agreed that their sticky toffee pudding was the best we’d ever had.
Breakfast was also excellent. We got three full breakfasts, again with great vegetarian options, and had two racks of toast between us. Our eggs were scrambled to perfection, and I didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day!
I would thoroughly recommend the hotel for any meal, and would return to stay.

The Ship doesn't look anything from the outside, but when you go in it's so lovely. The food is excellent and the service great. The staff are all extremely friendly and make you feel really welcome. I would recommend this restaurant to all my family and friends.

With a name such as Topkapi you'll be hard put not to take your cap of to the best.
Staff are outgoing and always friendly and approachable. Orders are generally placed the moment you walk through the door. Good selection of food at high standard with short waiting time. Prices are good too. To get the very best order a pizza as it is buy one get one free (more bang for your buck).
For the purest, invite friends and family as house has excellent hospitality and is only too happy to accomadate you, Weekends are a must.
So it my be a Burntisland but I'm pleased too say the food is not.
I take my top kap of to you.

Nestled in the rich farming hamlet of Auchtertool, this cosy restaurant has been refurbished recently to create an eclectic mix of old and new. Roaring log fires create a relaxed and informal atmosphere in winter. The philosophy behind the food is purely to use the produce of some Fife farmers, growers and producers, so that our food will never have to travel far to reach your table. As an independent free house it is our aim to serve a good quality, ever-changing selection of local and regional cask ales, along with delicious, but inexpensive house red and white wines, up to champagnes to help you celebrate in style
Nice cosy little counrty pub out in thane of fife's wonderful countryside.
The food was very nice and tasty. Service nice and friecdly.
2 things which did niggle me... i found the prices rather expensive for what it is. The curry was around £12 but a bit of a rip off. I would be happy to pay around £9 instead. They have a lovely picture advert for whisky with 2 snuggly dogs but it is a Christmas message on it.... perhaps this would be only better to put up at Christmas time.
Would go back as enjoyed the meal.
