The restaurant is very old, with over 400 years of history. The quality of the gastronomic offer, the service and the kitchen are at a very good level. The menu is dedicated to the typically Minho dishes. While waiting for the main course I tasted a good "Pastel de Bacalhau" Then came the "Bacalhau à Bagoeira". It was a a huge bit of Bacalhau, with onions and chips (XXL !! ). Good enough. To end the meal nothing like experiencing the delights of the house, an old recipe of custard burned with squash and almond.

On the route of the Portuguese Caminho of St.James, magnificent portuguese traditional cuisine and great hospitality.
this restaurant serves hearty good local dishes and is very reasonably priced - the only issue is the front of house sister who doesn't speak any English at all and is very Brusque so you have difficulty ordering if you don"t speak or read Portuguese. The brother of the family is lovely and does speak some English but often works in the bar attached so try to find him first to help out. Puddings great by the way.

This restaurant is superb. First Jorge is a charming and very professional host that makes sure everything goes to your liking. The views over the river are breathtaking. The service is friendly and professional. The food is delicious, Portuguese food with a modern twist. Wonderful starters that you can opt to accept or not. You can tell there is a great chef in the kitchen: Miguel Morgado.

The service was average as it was slow and the man who served us was very slow and he always forgot what we ordered and he mixed up what we ordered.
The Mr unknown is very complicated and very boring, this restaurant needs more service adequately for people.
He took 10 mins just to bring us the check.
The only thing which was good was the food as it was very tasty.
I am disappointed overall.

Service was first class ,steaks melted in your mouth and the grilled octopus was the best I have ever tasted . Only thing they coud improve upon is the side order with the steak ,chips were a bit ordinary.

Had a very good dinner here - focused on braised meats (although like all restaurants in Portugal they had fresh fish on offer). Dined at 8 pm and we were early. Very good food, service. Enjoyed watching the locals. Located on a dimly lit street and while it probably was safe, walking back to our hotel meant a few dark streets before we reached the open pedestrian mall. May wish to consider a taxi next time.

The MOCHO, is a 5 star exquisite classy restaurant in Barcelos, Braga, Portugal. I have traveled lots through North America and Portugal and this is the best restaurant i have ever been to. They have an excellent and wonderful atmosphere and an inviting one of a kind glass rustic patio. They specialize in tapas and other foods along with a high quality exquisite selection of 240 different selections of wines and various local and specially imported beers. The staff are wonderful, professional and pleasant wanting to serve their customers with a smile at all times. For the Gin enthusiasts, this restaurant has world class Gins, served in a classy fishbowl glass with specialized ice. I guarantee you will not find a better Gin anywhere other than at MOCHO restaurant. The kitchen is opened until 2 am. The Food is fabulous and of excellent quality. The gambas al ajillo and the polvo a galega is phenomenal super delicious. The prosciutto and cheeses are specially imported and exclusive for that restaurant. This is one extreme world class restaurant to enjoy with friends. Can't wait to go back.

A taste of the regional food in a small country restaurant. Always had nice meals and good prices. I go there because near to some clients, so I recommend it both in summer and winter, place is small so maybe you may have to wait, but it's worth it.
