I first reviewed this restaurant 18 months ago, so I was pleased to revisit on our return to Bad Säckingen. We visited first on a Monday evening, again for a meat feast here you can't go wrong, brilliant. The person writing the previous review to this one said the service was slow, well one this night for us it was like lightning! In fact when we returned the following night, for fish this time, we had to ask for a break between courses!
Quality - no question about it, excellent.

If you have the necessary budget, go visit this place. You won't regret it. The food is really fresh and delicious, they experiment with new creations, so if you are into funky food, thats your place. The interior is nice and clean, the service super friendly. Great place.

Just one block removed from the historic market square around the lovely church, this smallish restaurant offers traditional food of good quality. The service is friendly and the portions are decent. In addition to the truly traditional German food, you can also have pasta dishes and pizza here. I can recommend this place, there's nothing you can say against it.

Greek cuisine, tasteful, smiling faces, normal and honest pricing, you must visit and eat in this place.Let Giorgos and his colleagues take care of you.
Amazing value in perfect location right on munsterplatz. Great food, ample variety, truly enjoyable experience

We needed to wait for the food for about 1 hour. There were many guests, but only 2 employees. Service was not good. We weren't asked for drinks, but needed to wait like 20 minutes for the first order. Empty plates from starters were not removed. As well main dishes plates stayed with us for very long. The food quality is medium only with no creativity. Prices are rather high for Germany.
I would not go there again.

I ate a few times and I have tried many dishes including pizza.
top-quality restaurant, with dishes prepared by the first and second courses, excellent pizza, but with fish prepared by a great chef to order. The real surprise is the welcome of the owner, the family and the waiters. A place which I highly recommend with value.
thank you

My friend and I visited here on a busy Sunday afternoon. The service was good, the Italian staff were presumably communicating with us in their third language, but we all managed to understand each other.
The menu is only available in German or Italian, but since we both ate a lot of Italian at home, deciding what we wanted to eat wasn't a problem.
My friend had a Parmesan salad - loads of delicious Parmesan cheese, tomatoes, rocket and balsamic dressing. We both loved it. I had the antipasto della case and it was also wonderful. A selection of local meats and cheese, with rocket and balsamic dressing. The free bread that accompanied the meal was great for making little sandwiches out of my antipasto, and for mopping up the delicious dressing.
The other customers mainly seemed to be ordering pizza, it was a warm day, so pasta wasn't a popular choice. The pizzas all looked amazing!
There's outdoor Seating available, and the downstairs Seating has a side view into the kitchen so you can see the food being prepared. There's also a large upstairs dining room.

Steak House
Now this is one really and truly excellent steakhouse! Located on the lovely historic, cobbled market square around the beautiful church, the Marco Polo is - contrary to what the name might imply - a steakhouse first and foremost. The menu is very extensive, and its two main specializes, each prepared on many varieties - are on the square prime US beef and Canadian buffalo. Steaks can be chosen in different sizes (in ounces). The main entrees all include trips to the well stocked salad bar and come with a side you can choose - and it is all excellent. You can also have smaller dishes with Turkey, chicken or European beef. I just love their side of potato wedges; they're to die for. Service is prompt and very friendly, and the atmosphere is bright and cheerful. The food is a bit more expensive than average for the area - well, mostly the US Beef and the Canadian Buffalo - but if you are a steak aficionado, this is very much worth it indeed. I can most highly recommend this place for anybody who craves a decent steak with all the trappings; it's just like at home!

We ate on the cobblestone Terrace 50 meters from Europe's longest wooden bridge. We ordered Thai vegetarian curry and Indian chicken curry and both were delicious, washed down with the local pilsner. A friendly family operation. Conveniently located near bridge and tourist information center and next to a good ice cream shop. Fast service, great food, affordable, nice street-side atmosphere. Breakfast or lunch.
