Christina Lake has been the one place in the world where I truly relax and unwind. The beautiful surroundings, warm water, great weather, and especially if you have great people will make for a wonderful experience. I've been all over the world, and I will always go back to Christina. Please take care of this place - clean up after yourselves, don't pollute the lake, and be respectful of nature and others. Enjoy!

New iconic BC Provincial Parks (the best parks in Canada) picnic tables! New gravel pads and concrete picnic table slabs, new flush toilets and of course the fabulous timber frame showers! Absolutely one of the best campsites around. Kudos to the current caretakers. And the lake! Well what can I say, crystal clear and still swimming in it on September 12/16.

Boundary Museum & Interpretive Centre

The Boundary Museum Society was established in 1958, and incorporated in 1980. From its inception until 2009, the Boundary Museum Society operated out of the downtown core of Grand Forks, BC. In 2009, the Boundary Museum moved into the former Fructova School, now called the Fructova Heritage Site. The Fructova Heritage Site was built by the Christian Communities of Universal Brotherhood (CCUB) Doukhobors in 1929 as a facility to teach English and academics to the Doukhobor children of the Boundary area. The school was in use until the late 1940's. The Boundary Museum currently features five larger exhibits - the Doukhobors, a schoolroom, local wildlife & environment, historic store in addition to several smaller exhibits on First Peoples, China town in Grand Forks, forestry, sports, and music. Exhibits change from time to time. You will also see a Doukhobor bread oven and perhaps be able to participate in bread making or other activities in the summer months.

Big Rock Candy Mountain

Reviewed By SaNaka13

My family of 4 did the Rock Candy Mine Safari in July 2015 and it was fantastic! My 6 and 10 year olds absolutely loved it. John is an all around great guide - very knowledgeable and willing to share his expertise of the geology as well as local mining history, but also willing to set some parameters for safety and let you explore. He was great at answering questions and providing pointers.
See Noinod5's great review below for more details. The hike in is beautiful. The steep bits of the trail are not that long, but can be a bit slippy. We did have one member of the group turn back b/c it was too much (someone said he had a heart condition), but there were definitely varying levels of ability w/I the group and kids ranging in age from 4 to about 14. I didn't see anyone finishing up without a really happy smile - even the teenager, whose attitude had seemed a bit "whatever" at first. I have a tricky ankle, but wore my brace and was careful coming down w/ my rocks and didn't have any problems. My son found me a walking stick, which was helpful.
We had a great time collecting beautiful green and purple fluorite. We stopped by the bridge on the way back to town and had a great swim in the river. A unique outing and one of those days that our family will remember!

We specifically stopped on our way from Christina Lake to Osoyoos at the Alpine Taxidermy & Wildlife Museum in Grand Forks. Unfortunately nobody was there so we moved on. What we can say is that this place has a very nice location and it looks great from the outside.

Grand Forks Municipal Park

Reviewed By Capnnak - Tumwater, Washington

We overnighted here while on a motorcycle trip. The campground is clean and nice. The restrooms were very clean and they had free showers. The camp host was very helpful and we found our tent sites very large and roomy. There was shade too. The nicest thing was that you were only 1-2 blocks from town so you could walk to restaurants and pubs. Late in the evening deer come out to graze on the expansive grassy areas.
