Sydney offers plenty of historical and contemporary Australian flavor. The marvelous Sydney Opera House looks like a great origami sailboat, floating peacefully in a harbor. Wander the narrow cobblestone streets of The Rocks and then take in a street performance on the Circular Quay before heading into the Museum of Contemporary Art. The views from the Sydney Tower Eye observatory are epic – use this chance to get to know the layout of the city from high above.

Secluded Beaches, quiet coves and soaring headlands predominate this harbor, which is considered one of the world's most beautiful.
Fantastic place to visit, has great harbour views, cafes, fast food, restaurants and more. Great busking from local musicians adds to the ambience. Regular ferry services to take you all over the harbour. Our hotel was within walking distance to the harbour as is many of the hotels in this area. Cruise ships frequent the international cruise terminal opposite the Opera House and by Sydney harbour bridge, great tourist destination. Recommend on your bucket list!!

A cliff top coastal walk, the Bondi to Coogee walk extends for six km in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. The walk features stunning views, Beaches, parks, cliffs, bays and rock pools. The Beaches and parks offer a place to rest, swim or a chance to eat at one of the cafes, hotels, restaurants or takeaways. All Beaches offer picnic shelters, electric barbecues, play areas, kiosks, toilets and change-rooms. The walk is not difficult, there are medium gradient paths and several staircases with occasional Seating. It takes about two hours to complete the Bondi to Coogee Beach section of the walk and another hour and a half if you choose to continue to Maroubra.
Bondi Beach is an easy train ride from Sydney center. The Bondi Icebergs Club restaurant is good but must be booked in advance. If you are unsure of your plans and just stop in have a drink at the bar. The bar has the same stunning views. The bar does not serve coffee. Then take the coastal walk. It is physically easy, although there are stairs, and very rewarding.

One of the most iconic buildings in the world – the Sydney Opera House is an architectural masterpiece and vibrant performance space. It's a place where the past shapes the future, where conventions are challenged and cultures are celebrated. Step inside and discover the stories that make the Opera House so inspiring. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, a first-timer or an aficionado, the Sydney Opera House has something for everyone.
We went to eat dinner inside but they had just closed (too late at night), so we went to the outdoor restaurant. The atmosphere, sitting outside in the summer, beautiful water view, beautiful view of the opera house, was just a really great vibe & experience! We ended up getting a bottle of champagne & just sat for a long time, soaking it all in. I highly recommend going in their summer!

Spanning the city center to the North Shore, the Sydney Harbour Bridge is a wide steel arch bridge known for its beauty as well as function, providing a crossing for cars, trains, bikes and pedestrians. While the more daring can do the BridgeClimb to the top of the structure, opened to traffic in 1932, anyone can enjoy a walk for free.
If you are in Sydney then it just has to be seen - it's a must. A magnificent sight crossing a magnificent harbour - and it dominates the harbour because you can see it from some many different vantage points. Its a great piece of engineering and transformed Sydney when it was opened in the 1930s.
And see it differently when you are on the harbour itself on a boat.
We were so thrilled to be able to see it and I am sure that it will bring special memories back when we see it on the tv news each New Year when they have their fireworks display.

Sydney Ferries is a public transport agency, providing ferry services on Sydney Harbour and the Parramatta River in Sydney, Australia.Having operated on Sydney Harbour and its related waterways since 1875, today Sydney Ferries carry over 14 million customers each year to destinations in and around Sydney.
Beats the Hong Kong Star ferry hands down! Star your trip at the Circular Quay wharfs.
The Manly trip is a good 25 minutes and is awe-some when the sea is a bit rough. The Darling Harbour trip is a treat too because it goes under the Harbour Bridge and stops in at Luna Park.
The only thing missing is that coal-fire smell that you have on the Star Ferry.

Scenic entertainment complex that features shops, restaurants, museums and other tourist attractions.
Innovative area. My children really enjoyed the playground, and we had a lovely stroll around the area. Very nice compared to the hectic, overcrowded streets of Sydney.

Barque James Craig is rightly famous around the world. She is Sydney’s only 19th Century square rigger (or Tall Ship) and her incredible restoration to full sailing condition was recognised in 2003 by the World Ship Trust’s award of their prestigious Maritime Medal. Her restoration cost almost $A30 million and took nearly 40 years to complete after she was rescued from Recherche Bay in far southern Tasmania. This beautiful ship regularly goes to sea with up to 80 passengers and is open for public inspection at her berth at Wharf 7, 58 Pirrama Road, Pyrmont. She is also available for charter and for functions. Tall Ship James Craig is looked after by Sydney Heritage Fleet, a community-based non-profit organisation, with the following mission: To build and maintain an internationally recognised centre of excellence in maritime heritage for the benefit of all Australians by presenting through research, acquisition, conservation, restoration, education and operation, our continuing maritime history. The Fleet is funded through donations, membership subscriptions and income from vessel charters and tours. The Fleet’s 1200 strong membership and 450 dedicated volunteer workers restore, operate and maintain the fleet of vintage vessels. In the process they preserve traditional technical methods and skills.
Booked 9 months ago to go on the James Craig whilst visiting Sydney after Reading previous reviews and wow what an evening, Our best New years eve ever. Got on board to be greeted by the crew and given a drink which flowed all night, crew kept coming round with canapes. Then after the 9pm fireworks and taking part in the light parade, a full buffet was served downstairs. The excellent band played all evening up on deck. Plenty of room on the ship and then to be moored so close to the bridge for the fireworks was a dream. Would love to be able to experience this all again.

This is definitely the most beautiful walk in Sydney and provides the best view of the harbor, the Opera, and the city skyline. We were lucky to have a beautiful blue-sky day with perfect temperatures so it was especially enjoyable. Make sure you take time to explore the botanical garden after you have seen the waterfront. You will miss amazing flowers, birds, and landscaped grounds if you don't. There are many sections to it and each one has its own charm, so take your time and explore. You will be glad you did! Note: Only take the guided tour of the botanical Gardens if you are really into learning all the scientific details of the plants and trees--otherwise, just explore on your own.
