Good breakfast spot with nice views, friendly service and really satisfying meals at a reasonable price. It sets the scene for a nice day every time we go to Coogee for a visit. The coffee is not Melbourne standard but it's passable. From eggs, to healthy bowls, the food is substantial and well put together. The type of place that serves people of different ages and cultures equally well.

Located just up the hill away from central beach and a little bit less touristy. Excellent restaurant with all day menu and Mediterranean twist. Excellent service good wine list reasonably priced. Portions large and we shared zucchini pasta and smoked trout flakes. Very good. Service very helful and comforting.cappuccino brilliantly decorated.

We booked a table which was just as well, as we had driven for an hour before we arrived.
In the front room, near the outside we had a great view of the coast and sea, as well as the passing parade. Most tables were taken and there was a constant turn around.
Tap water is available at the bar. Kitchen with five chefs busy behind counter - wonderful to see such busi-ness and efficiency - all accomplished apparently seemlesssly.
Orders taken and meals came without our feeling the time pass. Drinks and bottled sparkling water came most efficiently. Staff were most attentive.
Seared salmon was served with asparagus and green beans! Salmon so moist - cooked superbly. Fried flathead fillets with chips were crisp and much enjoyed. An Hawaiian pizza was tasty and very well received.
Everyone was most satisfied. Rose accompanied some meals.
Two desserts were ordered: raspberry flavoured cheesecake and another almond and raspberry tart both were accompanied by cream.
Coffees - latte, long black and cappuccino - were great! Seriously good coffee !!

What a wonderful foodie experience. Each table is given a token, green on one side and red on the other. So long as you want more food, keep the green side up. The friendly and obliging serving staff will then come around with skewers of different barbecued meats, or bowls of salad etc. The meat is fresh off the barbecue, hot, juicy and mouth-watering. A great place for a large group.

Terrible in several respects:
- First time in my life I leave an entire dish (so wasted $19 BTW...): fried eggplants were just not edible; full of oil... I signaled it to the cook who seemed to find this normal and merely said "they would work it out". Well nothing happened (no replacement, no reimbursement, no excuses, n-a-d-a).
- The babaganoush was way too acid (too much vinegar probably). The one from Coles is not worse.
- Houmous was fine; nothing sensational, but at least was edible
- The lamb sausages were completely average; again, one can find similar ones at Coles (!)
Given all this, the price we paid ($90) is just outrageous. In Melbourne a restaurant like this would not survive for long. But even by Sydney's standards, which are not super high, this restaurant is way below the average Lebanese restaurant one can find in the area.
The only plus (and I suspect this is why the restaurant seems to be fairly popular) is the quantities provided: quite generous indeed. But given the poor quality, this is hardly surprising (they compensate for the low quality by increasing the portions...).
Huge disappointment!!!

Battered fish was tasty and freshly prepared, and we had chips with both pieces of fish. For us there were more than enough chips, so if we go back, maybe a single portion of chips would be sufficient.

Giovanna's is a go-to family Italian restaurant. It might not be 'fine dining' and it's probably not really as 'excellent' as other places closed on a Monday night, but the food is of high quality and the service very friendly and efficient. Terrific for large groups (many of them on most nights) as well as couples. It's a bit difficult to park near Giovanna's with the light rail construction filling ideological needs. The entrée muscles were outstanding and the calamari well cooked. I've had the crispy duck a few times and it's always a generous serve, cooked through with a delicious orange sauce. Pork, lamb, chicken and beef were all good. They do pizzas too. Meals come with vegetables so the reasonable price is the price, and extra sides are not required. The restaurant is not over noisy like some Italian places. An excellent choice for an enjoyable dining experience, reliably suitable for a special occasion at the moderate range of the scale.

Italian Bar and Grill with a New York feel. Meats on the spit/ Rotisserie and woodfired , Home made pasta's and pizzas and amazing cocktails. A great wine list including Australian, European and Argentina and France
I was taken here for an unexpected lunch and was not very hungry, until I walked through the door!
To the right there is a tremendous piece of theatre with some pork belly being spit roasted over charcoal. The kitchen in full flow and you can tell everyone working there is full of pride and passion for the food the service delivered. One really feels welcome in a very homely place, in fact I could have spent all afternoon there.
I had the Penne Arabiatta which was made with fresh quality ingredients and piping hot. The chilli balance was perfect.
Next time I'll go back there when I'm hungry.
Highly recommended indeed.
